Do Republicans hate America?

The problem with the fanatics, zealots, and wingnuts on both sides is that they will always spend more time denying all their failures and exploiting their successes instead of working toward fixing the real problems. This is the only reason extremists are bad on either side, but both Republican and Democrat extremists do this.

For them, America is a platform for individual fulfillment. Here is the catch: individual is conceived in the narrowest possible terms. Any notion of "The Public" is seen as "Socialism" (-socialism is anything the government does for the non-wealthy). The Free Market will fix New Orleans levees. The Free Market will effectively control the amount of derivative-based risk it assumes. The Free Market will get us off imported petroleum in the 70s (rather than spending decades making terrorists stronger). The Free Market will keep rivers clean. The Free Market will make Health Care efficient. The Free Market won't bribe Washington in order to increase it's profit margin. We don't need to worry about "The Public Good". Individual Selfishness, driven only by short term profit, is a utopian reflex.

Trust the market.

Glad to see somebody gets it.......:clap2:

If we Americans cannot put end our affection for this team spirit partisanship we all seem to have, we can hardly expect our leaders, who are after all, exploiting this divisive society to put their own partisan interests ahead of America's, can we?

I think that most of us can intuit how our going for the throat political style is not serving we the citizens, but rather is helping the leadership of our political parties to stay on top when it must be obvious to most of us that they do NOT deserve that power.

And yet STILL we find on this board every day, troll posting here with no other purpose than to throw gasoline on this partisan firestorm.

I am growing weary of stepping around people whose motivations I sense are less than honorable.

This most recent post which was nothing but a childish fable about some fictional husband whose business made $250K, but who only makes less than what a welfare family makes is exactly the sort of toxic pap I'm talking about, too.

I think it's time to stop coddling this jerks, and start evicerating their nonsense logically and brutally, too.

We people who are genuinely conservatives or liberals, but are honest about it, are frequently undermined by these cur who seldom bring anything real to this place, other than their genuine desire to feed the fires with misinforming partisan blather.

I'm declaring war on this toxic morons, folks.

Left or right, liberal or conservative, if you come at us with some nonsensical story that simply CANNOT be real, I'm not going to pretend that I think you are merely a clueless moron, anymore

I'm going to assume you are a lying partian, an anit- intellectual featherweight who deserves no quarter from me.

I hope that there is among us, enough ration players, regardless of our poltical persuasion to drive off these people, or at least enough of us to make them change their motus operandi.

I respect a LOT of you people who I usually disagree with because you come at this debates honestly.

The simple fact remains that we need the best and brightest among our population to enjoy the freedoms to create thriving enterprise upon which the entire governmental system is supported via tax dollars.

Eliminating that freedom is a recipe for disaster. If you wish to state who will build levies, roads, help the needy if not the government, then you must also pose the question who will provide the government the means to do so if not the tax payers? And who will not provide the wages by which those tax payers can themselves thrive if not the best and brightest who are creating the enterprises to do so?

Government is welcome to provide an equal playing field for those who wish to engage in the sometimes full contact sport of a free market - but a government who declares that we are all winners, that my friends, is when nobody cares to try, and the entire system falls into decline.

Too many in this nation have so happily embraced the us vs them mantra handed out by the leftist politicians and hack media. The battle of the haves and the have nots. There will always be haves and have nots in a HEALTHY free market enterprise because some among us simply CHOOSE to settle for little to nothing, while far more CHOOSE to work hard and aim high. That is the AMERICAN WAY - or at least it once was.

Goverment will either support economic progress or it will work to punish it in the name of equality, fairness, and "hope".

No thank you. I will take hard work, dedication, and FREEDOM OF OPPORTUNITY thank you very much...
