For many voters, he has an R next to his name so I guess that’s good enough. But I think if I asked any republican voter why they liked McConnell, I don’t think any of them could give me much of an answer without deflecting to the usual “well at least he isn’t a democrat!”

Can anyone here explain why you like McConnell? I mean it’s not like he at all gives a shit about you. There’s no evidence to suggest that he does. Why do you like him? Also, keep in mind how big of a failure he is in his home state: KY gets more in government welfare than any other state.

I’m on the fence with Pelosi. What I don’t like is her egregious wealth. It definitely comes across as hypocritical. Hard to say how much of that comes from lobbying which is despicable. What I do like has been her response to the COVID-19. Overall, though, I wish someone more progressive would replace her.

Mitch is a study of a creature's natural survival instinct. He reminds me of the grouper fish at the bottom of the tank. You know, the one sucking up all the shit and still surviving while all the brightly colored fish above him go belly up? Mitch is pretty crafty. He's about power and the consolidation of said power. He knows the end is in sight for not only his generation, but also his belief system. So, he's been using his Senate majority to make changes where it might be possible for the Republican party to hold on to something resembling power and control. Example, stacking the courts with younger conservative judges for the possibility of getting favorable rulings long after he's gone.

He's always been unpopular in his home state. People hold their nose and vote for him. But now, it looks like even in the red state of KY, he's got an actual challenge this year. I never thought this was possible in my lifetime.
