But when you are able to speak with a German then this German speaks your language and you do not speak German. Over many, many years of teaching English to international students, I worked with people of all ages and backgrounds. This included people from Germany. Most were wonderful, intelligent people. Some, of course, were laughably stupid. I have found this to be true of any demographic.
