Did the T34 or the Tiger influence future tank designs more?

in this order:
firepower
armor
mobility

Depends on what the purpose of the tank is. For a scout tank (Alvis Scorpion, as a for instance) mobility is more important than armor or firepower.

the germans' failed response
failed response?? what do you mean?

seems self explanatory

they lost, after all
well the Tiger was not in response to the T34

Actually, it was. The T-34 surprised the hell out of the Germans. They had no idea they existed, and when they finally encountered them they found that their tank main guns were useless against them. Like I stated earlier, a SINGLE T-34 stopped Army Group Center for several hours until it was set on fire by molotov cocktails. Here's the picture that was taken when it was finally destroyed.

The Stug was only able to destroy the suspension and tracks. They couldn't penetrate the fighting compartment.

no--what response--please specify

it was their response to the fact that the t34 was superior to every tank in the german inventory in 1941.
no it wasn't --the Panther was---- already linked it ..here it is again:
Panzer V Panther
Panzer VI Tiger

the Scorpion is NOT a tank
that's why there are no scout tanks in the US military--to my knowlege

most of you are bootcampers [ newbies/rookies/etc to WW2/military ]

it states in my links that the Panther was in response to the T34--undeniable
the Panther began AFTER the T34 was met
the Tiger was begun long BEFORE the T34 was met
from the Panther link:
In June 1941, during a seemingly unstoppable advance, the first encounters with T-34s really shook the General Staff, as more and more reports signaled that a Russian tank was found superior to both the upgraded Panzer III and the Panzer IV. After many had been captured in relatively good order, Heinz Guderian ordered a full report to be drawn by a Panzerkommision, dispatched to assess the T-34. It was noted that the combination of thick, well-sloped armor, a very effective 76.2 mm (3 in) gun and good power-to-weight ratio combined with large tracks meant that the Russian tank almost reached the “impossible triangle” that characterized a perfect medium tank. This was unmatched in the German arsenal, raising concerns, which in turn needed prompt reactions.

you must not have read the FIRST paragraphs of the links or you don't understand them
it's in the first paragraphs

the Panther was in response to the T34--not the Tiger
this is very basic WW2 knowledge
the Tiger does not have sloped armor!!!
