According to the article, many of the private hospitals are going to enact the new law, even though they aren't required to.
What I find odd is that conservatives seem very concerned about things like welfare fraud but don't seem to care one bit about stopping opiate addicts from using public funds to feed their addictions in public emergency rooms.
Maybe if we just hired doctors to dispense food stamps conservatives would be A-OK with folks using their food stamps to buy crack.
