If America insists on caring for thousands of some other country's children wouldn't it be cheaper do send the aid to the Central American countries instead? Why are we stealing them from their country.

To progressives, the only true charity comes from the threat of government force. The only true generosity is calling on government to take money from those who earned it and give it to those who didn't.
