The House passed a one-week spending bill Friday morning, 382 to 30, with 207 Republican votes and 175 Democratic votes, meaning the Democrats were necessary to keep this government afloat. Again. That's despite the declaration by Republican leadership that they would have the votes to do it all on their own. After holding the vote open for nearly an hour, they gave up on getting those last 15 Republicans on board and gaveled the vote. Some governing party this is.

That's why the Democrats can make a lot of demands. If the Republicans were grownups, they'd calmly work out a compromise. You know, normal politics. Instead, they're crying about how mean the Democrats are, but the Democrats are standing firm. If you know you hold the stronger hand, you can ignore bluffing.

When Congress works in a bipartisan manner for the good of the nation, you both shamed the Democrats....The shame is on YOU.
The Democrats just gave the GOP one more week to figure out how to strip 10's of millions of Americans of healthcare and how to fund a wall to nowhere. Shame on THEM.

And all just to put off one more embarrassment for Trump.

What makes Congress think they can get an agreement in a week when they haven't been able to agree on anything in eight years?

The Dems vote kept the government open for business. Now if the GOP cannot get their act together, House, Senate, and Executive, a government shutdown is totally on their heads.

The dems know that Trump would have destroyed them with his twitter account. The dems knew they had a better than 50% chance Trump could put the blame for a shutdown right at their doorstep.

I was hoping The Democrat Party would force a shutdown so America could see how a real American President dealt with it....surely much different than the predecessor petulant child "president" who slammed the gates on national parks and hung veterans out to dry!

What makes you think Trump will be able to keep parks open during a shutdown?
By law, only functions designated as essential may remain open. Why would you think a park qualifies as essential?

Democrats live in terror of being attacked on Twitter? Who knew. I thought the plan was to provoke Drumpf's Twitter tirades to make him look dumb(er).
