These are not facts, they're lies. As is your comment that they had to pass the ACA in order to see what's in it.

As long as those who have benefitted from low tax rates continue to suck all of the income and benefits earned by the working class out of their pockets, forcing them to spend their savings and seek government aid, just to provide for their families, the country is going to continue to decline. Without significant investments in education and infrastructure, the country is going to continue to decline.

Taxes are the price the wealthy should be paying in order to live in a well-educated, strong country. If the wealthy are unwilling to give back to the country which helped make them rich, the country will continue to decline.

Unless law is either civil law or criminal law, it is a burden. That is, law should serve as recourse for victims of breach of contract or predatory behavior. Nothing more.

Laws that encourage illegal immigration, minimum wage laws, and the like are positive laws. Democrats love positive law, or arbitrary law. They love to burden the people.

It was okay as long as democrats could perpetuate the myth that the very rich would be paying for everything. Now the care and feeding of those who choose to be poor, is shifting to the working class, it would be an error to imagine they are okay with getting their pockets picked. It's the The Koch Brothers who have to get used to the idea that family movie and dinner night is over because the poor need birth control. It's the family who used to look forward to that. It's not Donald Trump that has to give up his kids' college education so that Pedro can bring his six kids here from mexico. The bald fact is that the war on poverty ended when Reagan took office. He even said that the war on poverty is over. So the idea that this war has been waged for 50 years and the country is worse off than when it started, is completely false.

During the first 10 years on the war on poverty, great strides were made. But once Reagan came into power and ended it, everything that had been gained started slipping away.

Things are worse because the system has changed. It is harder today to move from poverty to middle class than at any time since the Great Depression. The rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer. Cutting education programs, closing publicly funded schools, and cutting aid for post- secondary education is making it more difficult for the children of low income families to acquire the tools to succeed.

Government does not have its boots on the necks of businesses. Business is awash in cash. US corporations are sitting on billions of dollars in profits and they're not hiring because they're outsourcing. It's cheaper and more profitable.

Until wages for working people rise to a level where they have disposable income and every dollar they earn isn't spent on providing the most basic of necessities, the economy can't grow. There is a lot of pent up consumer demand at the low end of the consumer spectrum. Getting more money into the hands of the lowest income earners, is the best way to get the economy moving.
