I was goiing through the info at this site and was aghast at the avg rent in San Jose (not sure which party is in power there)

A studio apt averages $2535 a month... no bedrooms!

Then I saw the rates in Dim-run cities:

NYC $3292

and worst of all

San Francisco $3510!

So now you know why there are so many homeless in San Fran & other dim-run cities

oh, I thought there was an actual comment here

should have looked @ the handle name...

Let's really think about why the rent is so high. Wait for it, more people want to live there than there is housing available.

If a lot of people move to rural towns, the rent will go up in rural towns. Learn basic economics, and while you’re at it, tell me which has higher salaries, big cities or rural towns.

Now, find all cities run by dems and repubs. Florida has some outrageous rents in cities run by repubs. So the top 10 largest cities has high rents and they happen to be run by dems, are you telling all if the administrations change in these cities to repubs the rents will magically go down?

Basically what you are saying are the politicians in these cities own these rental units?

DUH

That was not my point at all... seems irrelevant (except to those who don't know it)

:bigbed:

Supply and Demand.

Capitalism, not Socialism.

didn't say anything of the sort

How about this: why don't private entities get together and build affordable housing? Maybe there is not a big profit to made from such?

Why is PROFIT

god?

I am not against capitalism but knowing human nature, I'd say that, not surprisingly, most humans want a good life for Numero Uno... and it doesn't look like many people are taking it upon themselves to house the homeless

another DUH

And then they have the unmitigated gall to dump hate on the homeless just bc they can't afford these ridiculous rents! They are scum! They urinate in public! That is something BTW that I have NEVER seen.. NEVER

It seems like a big lie.. which is not to say some homeless people don't do that. The homeless are like any other group. They have good ones in the group and not so good. But somehow, all of society dumps their frustrations on them... as though they are sub-human.

And no one ever does much of anything to help them.. who cannot help themselves.. for whatever reason(s)..

Is that why there's an exodus from California and New York to Red States?
it's a typical lib BS line

they think by saying 2 or 3 words (supply and demand)

they are somehow making some sagacious point..

that will END all debate!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you not understand that the MORE people demand a product, in this case rental housing, the supply is finite therefore landlords can raise the rent and get it?

Notice how Dallas, in a red state

has rent that is about 1/3 of what it is in the dim run states!
