Once upon a time, journalists were expected to “comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable.” In recent years, however, journalists are comforting the comfortable and afflicting the afflicted, all while serving the interests of society’s most powerful figures.
In the years since Donald Trump’s election in 2016, the academic complex studying and allegedly fighting “misinformation” has exploded. The Democracy Fund, a foundation run by billionaire eBay founder and liberal megadonor Pierre Omidyar, announced a new fund to “fight misinformation” in 2017. Following his example, LinkedIn founder Reid Hoffman and George Soros launched a company that aimed to “tackle disinformation” by propping up partisan local news outlets.
The ascent of Trump set the well-heeled liberal philanthropist set adrift, baffled at the that notion such a toxic figure could have been elected. Rather than engaging with Trump’s political program, they fell instead down a conspiracist rabbit hole: Republican voters must have been fed bad information. With a likely Trump v Biden rematch on the cards in 2024, it’s little wonder that Democrats have once again began their “fake news” handwringing.
Joe Biden’s re-election campaign recently announced that Rob Flaherty, a little-known White House aide, will head up its efforts to combat online misinformation. Despite his recent government service, complete with extensive efforts to censor the internet, Flaherty’s resume reads as that of a hardcore partisan.
He worked at the Democratic National Committee during the party’s historic losses in 2014; he worked for Hillary Clinton during her embarrassing loss in 2016, and for Beto O’Rourke during his sweaty loss in 2020 before he jumped into Biden’s basement – where he began causing massive problems for anyone in search of news from outlets to the right of The Morning Star.
Rather than taking misinformation seriously, the Biden administration recently promoted several of the “spies who lied” to serve on an intelligence experts group in its Department of Homeland Security. These so-called experts include James Clapper and John Brennan, who signed the infamous letter alleging that Hunter Biden’s very real laptop was actually a Russian hoax.
A question we all must ask ourselves is whether or not we will allow the current trend to continue and whether we are doing what we must to secure freedom.

Dangerous political cults such as the Democrat Party cannot survive the truth, therefore they must censor information.
Censorship is a huge flag for tyranny.
What the Democrats are calling 'misinformation' is any dissention from their hegemony.
No questions are doubting is allowed.
The Left is also using illegitimate 'fact checkers' which are in reality left wingers who fact check themselves/Democrats.
The Democrats used the FBI and the DOJ to pressure social media companies to censor information that they did not like.
The first amendment was designed to protect the citizens from a tyrannical rogue regime/party like Joe Biden's.
