Democrat Failed States

Just an observation.. no links yet but...

Why is every State controlled by the Democrat machine a failed State..

Examples.. California, New York, Nevada... etc...

How are you defining a "failed state"? Is it based on a balanced budget? Or the education system? Or unemployment? Lay out some criteria here and maybe we can have a good discussion on the subject.

You see, from where I'm sitting, in Minnesota, Mississippi looks like a "failed state" to me given its poverty and extremely poor education system.

There are more poor people, state for state, in blue states, California, for example, has 1/8th the US population, but 30% of the welfare cases.

What is the dropout rate in an urban high school in Los Angeles?

Ohh, I know, I know. About 50%.

Shit, if it wasn't for T-Paw stopping the fucktards in the state Legislature from bankrupting the state... oh wait... they just about did anyway....

I can only hope the new State Senate and Legislature can reverse the damage the libs had done there by cutting off the gravy train to incompetent cities. Let em suffer the consequences of overspending there too. Maybe end the goddamn waste of money called light rail and rails to trails programs. If they're REALLY smart, they'll push to remove the transportation amendment in the state constitution mandating 40% of the transportation budget goes to failed mass transit in the metro.

When are them buses going to pay for themselves again? How bout dem trains?

It's open.. rant in any way you'd like... my preference would be State debt & under-employment although States with he highest amount of freeloaders would be interesting...

50%

Which is what it was for white children nationwide back in the 50's.

But don't worry. During the last 10 years US graduates are taking a nose dive. But I'm guessing that teaching children education is "just a piece of paper" and "delegitimizing education by teaching the controversy" and calling colleges and college professors names and complaining scientists are lazy and on the government dole has nothing to do with it.

Conservatives want a return to the "50's" when the country was doing so well.

Of course, the tax rate for the top 1% was like 90% so it wasn't all good. Rich people were really suffering.

Right, but that's only because California has a far higher population. If we compare the poverty rate of California (15.3%) to Mississippi (23.1%) one can see more accurate which state has a more dire situation on their hands in terms of people living in poverty.

The flip side to that is that Mississippi has a lower dropout rate by something like 3 or 4 percentage points.

Oh well, I mean who can compete with such highly regarded, successful, and important centres of culture like Wyoming, Mississippi, or Idaho? My dream is to immigrate to America and be able to settle the proud town of Bumblefucknowhere, Oklahoma.

Sorry for being condescending, but please...

Because you won't be taxed on 60% of what you make like you would be in New York?

It's definitely worth it. That's why 8.2 million people live there and 600,000 live in Wyoming.

Or well, I'm talking about the City area, anyway.

The state of New York is insolvent.

California and New York are not anomalies or aberrations, they are leading indicators, like the scene in Camus' Plague where the rats pour into the streets.

It's called foreshadowing.

Cheap energy is going away -- and there is no replacement.

The banks are all zombies.

The middle class has been liquidated in order to give tax breaks to the wealthy.

By the time all of these forces reach their logical conclusion, the healthiest state will look like a toothless hooker sleeping under bridge and feeding out of leaking colostomy bag.

Or, if you don't understand any of the above, try this:

Take a tour of Upstate New York. Then visit the poverty stricken nightmare of the deep south. Rural Louisiana isn't a failed state, it's the third world. They can't pump out the religion and false hope fast enough. Good grief.

Frankly, I don't see this as a Red vs. Blue issue. There are states that are generally in decent shape that lean Democrat and there are states that are generally in decent shape that lean Republican.

I do, however, think it's approriate to point out that what we generally consider Red states have no problem sucking at the teet of the federal government and that if conservatives honestly want to start pushing for responsible government, they can start right in their own backyards.

6% of all liberal run cities with populations over 200 are successful!

There are three types of people in America: Those that make things happen - (The Republicans); those that watch things happen - (The Illegal Aliens); and, the doped up, spaced out, government teat suckers (The Democrats). The latter populates New York, California and Nevada.

I hope that answers the question.

Hardly a vote of confidence then, more like a 6% fluke.

According to a study by the University of Illinois, 67% of statistics are made up on the spot.

But mocking Hairnet is always a positive result.

Yea i often ask the same question. Most Democrat-controlled States are Third World failures. It's so sad because the People in most of those States keep re-electing Third World failure. Red States are definitely on the rise while Blue States are crumbling. It is what it is i guess.

New York a "failed state"?

Gosh..you make me wanna cry into my Beefeater martini (olives please) while eating my poterhouse steak while I lounge around in my imported silk pjs while watching my Bravia HDTV in my upper east side Manhattan co-op.

Really..

But my limo is down stairs and I must run.
Dude, they can't even run OTB at a profit. It's failed.

Don't forget Michigan. 20% unemployment and rising... maybe falling soon. Depends if the state legislature also went red.

Who the fuck cares about OTB?

We are not fucking Atlantic city..never was..

You forgot Michigan, the Democrats married to the union, a complete hell hole.

We've already started to bailout California.
So far this year, 30% of California Munincipal bonds have been bought by the Fed. Govt.. California has the weakest credit rating of any state in the Union. If or when they default, we'll have to bailout this bailout.

Some of you missed this while playing 'my state is better than your state.'

Yea the Democrats have thoroughly destroyed Michigan. But things could be changing for them there. They now have new leadership. Bringing Michigan back will be almost impossible but we'll see what the Republicans do. Cleaning up that awful Democrat mess aint gonna be easy. I wish them the best of luck.

MD almost turned into a failed state under our last Republican governor. Despite the hard decisions that had to be made to return to fiscal sanity, our current Dem governor was returned to office, rather than go back to the "my way or the highway" style that almost destroyed the state.
