In WA state, there is a 3 year rule, so someone who is 19 can have consensual sexual relations with a 16 year old without worrying about being charged with statutory rape. These older men, consent or not, usually manipulate these young girls with gifts or threaten them to keep them quiet.

Yes, there is coercion and trickery in most instances of much older adults and teenagers. That is why "familial" authority is part of many state statutes. I find this guy loathsome, but raising the age of consent has been nothing but a "feel good" measure. Of course, if the teenager has relatives that beat him up, I would say there are mitigating circumstances.

Keeping stats about "child molestation" that include older teenagers just makes the 'records' of elected officials look good. The focus should be on pedophiles, and those who lure younger teenagers.

A special grand jury returned a true bill charging Morrissey with four felonies on Monday afternoon. The charges include supervisory indecent liberties with a minor, electronic solicitation of a minor, possession of child pornography and distribution of child pornography. He also faces a misdemeanor charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

If convicted, Morrissey could spend up to 30 years in prison, face a fine and would have to register as a sex offender.

30 years! That will keep him out of commission for awhile.

Good, I'm glad he got caught and sentenced. But the real story here is the following:
A month or so from now a republican will get caught doing the same thing.
