http://news.yahoo.com/eight-people-arrested-over-benghazi-attack-official-173621608.htmlBENGHAZI,

Libya (Reuters) - Pro-government demonstrators stormed the headquarters of the Islamist Ansar al-Sharia militia in the Libyan city of Benghazi on Friday, aiming to evict fighters from the site, Reuters witnesses said.

Ansar al-Sharia has been linked to the attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi last week in which the U.S. ambassador to Libya and three other Americans died. It denies involvement.

Friday's action against the group appeared to be part of a coordinated sweep of militia headquarters buildings by police, government troops and activists following a mass public demonstration against militia units earlier in the day.

Chanting "Libya, Libya", hundreds of demonstrators entered, pulling down militia flags and torching a vehicle inside the compound, the group's main base in Benghazi.

The crowd waved swords and even a meat cleaver, crying "No more Al Qaeda!" and "The blood we shed for freedom shall not go in vain!"

This is a great day for the Libyan people. While this one protest won't even make a dent in removal of the cancer of Islamism in the region, it is certainly a step in the right direction.

Yes of course. Islamists always come out on top. In a region where savagery and barbarism wins the day, Islamists are the champions.

The PNAC Jewish Neo-Cons foresaw, who encouraged Bush to invade Iraq, probably told him, that Freedom of an individual in a democratic societies tend to herd the extremists to the side...They too saw that Democracies and stability go hand in hand...so far that's what the Arab Spring has brought.

The remaining Ayatollahs, Kings and Sheiks need to go. Once Political stability is established Economic stability and the re-distribution of wealth will produce enfranchisement and peace.

..A nice affirmation of simple Political Science of what I said yesterday...

Report: Morsi wants 'real' friendship with US - Yahoo! News
CAIRO (AP) — Before embarking on his first visit to the United States since becoming Egypt's first freely elected president, Mohammed Morsi says Washington in the past earned ill will in the Middle East by backing dictators but now he envisions the two countries being "real friends."

Morsi is heading to New York early Monday to attend the U.N. General Assembly meeting. In an interview with the New York Times published Saturday, he also said that the United States should not judge Egypt by its own standards — an apparent reaction to resentment in the Muslim country against an anti-Islam video produced in the United States.

It was his first interview with a U.S. publication since becoming president in the aftermath of the 2011 overthrow of Washington's key strategic ally, Hosni Mubarak.

.Libyan army orders militias out of compounds: LANA - Yahoo! News

TRIPOLI (Reuters) - Libya's army has given militias and armed groups 48 hours to evacuate military compounds, state property and properties of members of the former regime in Tripoli and surrounding areas, the official LANA news agency said on Sunday.

The announcement came after the Islamist Ansar al-Sharia militia was swept out of its bases in the eastern city of Benghazi on Friday in a surge of anger against the armed groups that still control large parts of Libya more than a year after the overthrow of Muammar Gaddafi.

The army ordered "all individuals and armed groups occupying military compounds, public buildings or property belonging to members of the former regime to evacuate these sites within 48 hours", threatening to use force if the groups did not comply, LANA said.

The invasion of Ansar al-Sharia's compounds, which met little resistance, appeared to be part of a sweep of militia bases by police, troops and activists following a large demonstration against militia units in Benghazi on Friday.

On Saturday, two Islamist militias in the eastern town of Derna, long seen as an Islamist stronghold, announced they were disbanding and evacuating their compounds, residents said.

Libya's new rulers have struggled to impose their authority on the myriad of armed groups that have so far refused to lay down their arms, and in fact rely on many of them to provide security.

Yeah but then you have countries like Pakistan declaring a day of rage and one of their top ranking officials offering $100,000 to anybody that kills the person responsible for the video that insulted Islam. Unfortunately the scale is tipping more towards Islamism and radicalism, in more countries than ever before. This case is a mutation that will be forgotten and ignored, unfortunately. The Muslim world is headed towards a steady decline and major confrontation with the West.
