Isn't the edge of most people's property next to the street owned by the govt? It is here.

Not in California.

I own all of the property to the gutter, including the sidewalk. The sidewalk is owned by the city, but the land under it is owned by me. Therefore, if I have a tree that grows roots under that sidewalk, I am responsible for damage - unlike if the same tree damaged the street.

Reading the article, the signs were on his property.

If that's the case NO signs should be there.

I just don't get the beating while police ignored it. If photos or video surface ill be swayed but until then this seems a he said she said.

Police are public employees and in SEIU. The surprise is only that they weren't beating the man along with the other democrat thugs.

If the signs were actually ON his property, he had every right to remove them.
If the signs were not ON, but IN FRONT OF his property, then he had no right to remove them.

Apparently it depends on where you live and less about lib/con theories. Here in KC many municipalities do not allow signs of any kind between the sidewalk and the street. And as far as lawsuits, that's tricky. Here where I live the city constantly repairs them so I dunno who is liable.

And here one has to have permission to post the signs...AND after the event those responsible MUST remove them or face a fine.

Yeah, we have had neighbors put up "garage sale this way" signs, on our property, and since we own the entire corner, we have allowed it.

I don't think they realize they need to ask permission, but we don't make an issue of it. They take them down right after, and that's cool.

But if someone put up a political sign? Oh heck no, it would come down immediately, be put in our garage, and we would return it to whomever came after it, and told it was NOT to be put back on our property.

WE would be ENTIRELY WITHIN OUR RIGHTS.

According to the police report filed the same day, Eighth Judicial District Court judge candidate Ernestina Cruz was having a “meet and greet” event at Plaza de Colores. At the same time, across the street, Cunnyngham and his wife were returning home from dinner to find several of Cruz’ campaign signs in front of his property.

As in the police report, Cunnyngham confirmed that three men approached him and demanded that he replace the signs where they’d been staked. Cunnyngham said he resisted.

75% of the shit from the blaze is audio/video.

I think the videos prove it. Not to mention the blaze cites it's sources.

I didn't see any videos on the story at the blaze but it is laid out better and sounds like a struggle did indeed occur. But either man could have been the instigating aggressor.

The signs should not have been placed there without his permission despite it sounding like they were directional signs and not political ones.

We have had people do that (not signs, but leave other things). We put them in the garage and if the owner comes looking for it, we return it to them, informing them, they are not to put it back on our property.
