1. Friday, September 24th, [2010] the FBI raided the homes of, and served Grand Jury subpoenas to, Hatem Abudayyeh, Executive Director of the Arab American Action Network (AAAN), and several other anti-war activists in Chicago, Michigan, and Minneapolis, and questioned others in North Carolina and California. 2. Federal search warrants indicate that authorities are looking for connections between terrorist organizations in the Middle East and South America and certain anti-war leaders and organizations in the U.S….When federal officers raided his North Side home last week, along with residences in Minneapolis, they were looking for funding links between Abudayyeh and the radical Islamic group Hamas that took power in the Gaza Strip three years ago….city of Chicago records obtained by the ABC7 I-Team show that his Arab American Action Network has received thousands of dollars in city grants: as much as $457,000 since 1998. 3. Incredibly, the raid followed a friendly visit to the White House by Abudayyeh earlier this year….The AAAN was founded by Barack Obama friend Rashid Khalidi, who once served as a spokesman for the Palestine Liberation Organization. Then-State Senator Obama was photographed at an AAAN dinner held on May 24, 1998 in Burbank, Illinois….But one target of the FBI investigation is alleged support provided to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), a Marxist group designated a “foreign terrorist organization” by the U.S. Secretary of State. U.S. law prohibits U.S.-based groups or individuals from providing support to foreign terrorist groups.

a. Two other Chicago-based activists, Joseph Iosbaker and Stephanie Weiner, have been associated with the Freedom Road Socialist Organization, a Marxist group, and had their homes raided as well. Helen Thomas to be Honored by Arab Group Raided by FBI

b. The warrant and subpoena suggest the probe, which is being run by U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald in Chicago, is focusing on illegal support for terrorist organizations, particularly by a Minnesota-based group called the Freedom Road Socialist Organization. PFLP, FARC and Hezbollah are designated as terrorist groups by the U.S. government. A spokesman for Fitzgerald’s office declined to comment on the probe…. “The U.S. and Israel will continue to describe Hamas, Hezbollah and the other Palestinian and Lebanese resistance organizations as ‘terrorists,’ but the real terrorists are the governments and military forces of the U.S. and Israel,” Abudayyeh said. 4. Though of Maoist origin, Freedom Road became integrated into "orthodox" international communist networks and worked with Communist Party USA, Democratic Socialists of America and Committees of Correspondence in organizations such as the Chicago New Party and supporting leftist Democrats. One leading Freedom Roader, Bill Fletche, Jr. also joined D.S.A. and helped found the both the socialist leaning New Party and Progressives for Obama. Barack Obama, of course joined the New Party and its parent organization Progressive Chicago and remained a member for several years in the mid 1990s. Before It's News

5. President Obama worked as a paid director of the Woods Fund, a Chicago nonprofit, from 1999 to Dec. 11, 2002. He served on the fund together with his good friend, Bill Ayers. The fund, with Obama and Ayers on the board, provided a $40,000 grant to the Arab American Action Network in 2001. The fund provided a second grant to the group for $35,000 in 2002

a. The co-founder of the group [AAAN], Columbia University professor Rashid Khalidi, has been a close associate of Obama. A harsh critic of Israel, Khalidi has made statements supportive of Palestinian terror and reportedly did work on behalf of the Palestine Liberation Organization while it was involved in anti-Western terrorism and was labeled by the State Department as a terror group. The group president is Khalidi's wife, Mona.FBI terror probe targets group funded by Obama

b. In 2003, Obama spoke at an AAAN-sponsored farewell dinner for Rashid Khalidi, a professor who was decamping from the University of Chicago to Columbia. During the 2008 campaign, the Los Angeles Times obtained a video of the event and reported that Obama lavished praise on Khalidi, who once served as a spokesman for the Palestinian Liberation Organization. The curious ties include Obama, Ayers, AAAN, Rashid Kalidi, Hatem Abudayyeh, Joseph Iosbaker and Stephanie Weiner, the Freedom Road Socialist Organization, the New Party, which is dedicated to moving the Democratic Party into the socialist category.

When does it become too much?

John McCain's presidential campaign Tuesday accused the Los Angeles Times of "intentionally suppressing" a videotape it obtained of a 2003 banquet where then-state Sen. Barack Obama spoke of his friendship with Rashid Khalidi, a leading Palestinian scholar and activist.

The Times first reported on the videotape in an April 2008 story about Obama's ties with Palestinians and Jews as he navigated the politics of Chicago. The report included a detailed description of the tape, but the newspaper did not make the video public.

"A major news organization is intentionally suppressing information that could provide a clearer link between Barack Obama and Rashid Khalidi," said McCain campaign spokesman Michael Goldfarb. " . . . The election is one week away, and it's unfortunate that the press so obviously favors Barack Obama that this campaign must publicly request that the Los Angeles Times do its job -- make information public."

The Times on Tuesday issued a statement about its decision not to post the tape.

"The Los Angeles Times did not publish the videotape because it was provided to us by a confidential source who did so on the condition that we not release it," said the newspaper's editor, Russ Stanton. "The Times keeps its promises to sources."...

No one wonders why the LA Times would take possession of a tape they weren't going to use? LOL!

Nothing to see here, move along.
