Could Trump actually beat Hillary in a debate?

Clinton has perfected the deflection of a question that, if truth would be told, had a negative answer. She is a pro at debates, there is no doubt. She can turn any negative question into platitudes for herself.

At the same time, Trump would be a complete disaster in a debate. He doesn't have the vocabulary, instincts, or filter to stay away from appearing to look like what he is, an ego gone wrong.

The perfect person to debate her would have been Newt Gingrich. He could take any question, frame it properly as a history lesson and give superb answers. He would have gone after Clinton and come out on top.

I guess you have never sat at a negotiating table with Trump right?
Those that have will tell you Trump is always 100% prepared. He knows EVERYTHING down to the last fucking piece of wallboard costs.
President Trump will surround himself with the best experts on the planet who will give him honest detailed information. Then Trump will negotiate.
The LAST thing anyone would EVER do if they worked for Trump is give him information based on what they thought he wanted to hear. Not like in Obama's case. He surrounded himself with fucking idiot 'yes-women' and look what that bullshit has led to.
The fact is Trump will end up debating 'Lonesome Joe' who will be dragged on stage.
His entire political life can be defined as one endless 'Talking Point'.

That's very nice to hear. I hope he does that well, if he indeed turns out to be the nominee. But, can he stop with the self promoting accolades long enough to get into detail? Can he stop focusing on himself rather than the goal he has set for himself? I think he has improved and brought down the banter of irrelevant details, but not yet does he have the impression if being presidential.

I hate to point out the obvious here (because I'm really not a big Trump supporter) but the rest of the GOP field have been trying to put Trump in "defense mode" through a number of debates and he hasn't blinked. What makes you think Hillary is any better suited to do what they couldn't do? How she's fended off Bernie Sander's attacks? Oh, that's right...Bernie has refused to attack her on things like Benghazi or the e-mail scandals! Do any of you think Trump is going to hold back any punches in attacking Clinton?
