You have a lot to unpack there. I prefer numbered items to organize the discussion points, so here goes:We generally agree. Many of the detainees are DUIs. Then they get out and either get deported or commit a crime that shouldn't have happened. Either they kill a family under another DUI, or shoot/rape/rob someone. I'm not a fan of sanctuary cities. WTF do the dems hope to achieve by keeping illegal criminals in their cities?????2. The argument against sanctuary cities is that criminal illegals rape, rob, and murder when they should have been deported. You can research the various cases. The blood of victims is on the local government's hands. This 2020 election is about the future of the country. What type of country do you want to live in. A country that is pretty much the way it has always been, or a new kind of socialist one-party rule dictatorship.
If the democrats win, their policies of open borders and free everything will transform the US into Communist China or Venezuela.
Look thru these democrat policies and think about how they will affect the US.
1. Open borders, tear down the southern border fence/wall
2. Sanctuary cities & states
I never understood the argument against the Sanctuary Cities. Supreme Court Decisions have routinely stated that Immigration is the responsibility of the Federal Government. Only the Federal Government has the authority to enact Immigration policy or enforcement. Yet, the party of States Rights is infuriated when the States or Cities refuse to lift a finger to assist the ICE agents. What they are saying is they wash their hands of the mess, and it's your problem. They don't hide Illegals, they just say they will not help you find them. And don't complain they are breaking the law, the law says the Feds are the ones who can implement and enforce Immigration Policy.
3. Free college
Ok, how does that happen? They don't know either. But one thing that will happen is that Congress, even a Democratic Congress would hold hearings on Big Education wanting to know why it cost so much of the Taxpayers money to go to school. Colleges would have to justify their expenses and costs.
4. "Medicare for all", aka rationed healthcare, "Lois Lerner" in charge of your access to healthcare
Do you think that healthcare is not rationed now? Right now using the Opioid Crisis the Feds are strangling the Pain Patients access to medication. These chronic pain patients are suffering while the Trump Administration shrugs and says they have to do it to fight the Opioid Crisis. Aren't we supposed to provide access to care for those who need it? And guess what? Transplant lists are rationed care. A larger demand than supply, and that has been the case forever.
The truth is that Rationed Care is always an issue. The Doctor who performed the surgery removing the Brain Tumor from Senator Kennedy is arguably the best in the world. Yet, he has finite time to treat patients. So he has to ration his time to those who he thinks is worth it. Again, supply and demand means it is always rationed. When you restrict supply, as is being done with Pain Patients, you create the artificial situation that you seem to object to. Where are your posts demanding that Chronic Pain Patients be given the treatments they need? Where are your posts about the Federal Government getting out of the Practice of Medicine? Where are your lists explaining why the DEA has no Medical Knowledge and no idea what the Doctor is doing?
5. Eliminate ICE and DHS, turn the US into the EU, with muslim "no go zones" and Sharia Law
Nuts.
6. Promote Globalism, whatever Wall Street wants Wall Street gets, see K-Street Cash
Dude, have you even paid attention for the last decade? We bailed out the Banks, and essentially Nationalized them We bailed out Wall Street the same way. We Nationalized the Insurance Company ING, and Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. We poured billions into the system. And how? We said we were going to buy the Toxic Assets. The bill passed by Congress and signed by Bush was the Toxic Asset Relief Program. The entire purpose was to buy those toxic mortgages and save Wall Street. Only they never bought any of those assets. Never. They just kept buying the Companies that held them. That was a Republican Secretary of the Treasury. What you are screaming about already happened under Republicans.
7. Paris Climate Change Treaty where the US pays $trillions to poor countries
Holy Hell. You are really ignorant. Republicans pushed for those Trade Agreements. Democrats resisted longer than the Republicans.
8. Stupid trade agreements, e.g tax breaks to move factories overseas
Oh my Lord. you're so ignorant that it boggles the mind. You do know that free trade is one of those Reagan Era arguments. Competition was good for the economy. Free Trade leveled the playing field? Reagan, Bush, Bush, and Trump all agree on that. It is why Trump's clothing for you to buy showing how much you support him is made in China.
9. Let China run roughshod over the US for trade and intellectual property theft
10. Let NK develop nukes and ICBM delivery systems, have no one capable of dealing with NK
11. Raise taxes to 70% on the wealthy, especially on corporations so they relocate overseas
12. Decriminalize all drug use and possession, Opioid deaths increase across the US
The Federal Government required that Sudafed was moved to a controlled substance. So we could track and reduce the manufacturing of Crystal Meth. It has had a marked effect. Crystal Meth production and availability has increased by a thousand percent according to the DEA who wants more money to fight the Crystal Meth issue. Those who are overdosing on Opioids are not getting them from the Doctor. Ok, about 1% are. So the Federal Answer under Trump has been to restrict Opioids and cause suffering in people. How the hell is that better?
13. Gangs like MS-13 running rampant across the US
14. No steel or mining industries due to foreign "dumping" of subsidized products
15. No new pipelines and no offshore drilling
16. Medicare for all means rural hospitals will close
Rural Hospitals are closing. 70 have closed in the last decade, and more are at risk. Why? They can't compete with the larger city hospitals to get into the Preferred Provider Networks. So they try to exist as Out of Network facilities. But they aren't able to because basically they would only treat emergency patients, and they are not large enough, nor rich enough to manage a Trauma Center. Now, how could it be worse under Medicare for All? Seriously. At least that way every doctor would be in network, including the ones at the Rural Hospitals.
17. The dems' "Central Committee" appoints super-delegates to subvert real voters in primaries
18. Pack the US Supreme Court to promote liberal policies
As opposed to packing the court to promote Conservative Agendas? Why is it wrong to do one but right to do the other?
19. Impeach anyone they deem not liberal enough, like Kavanaugh
20. Use the Federal Government to punish conservatives, like the IRS and Lois Lerner hounded conservatives
As opposed to using the Federal Government to crack skulls of Protestors and all that? Tell me again the difference?
21. Use the Intel community to spy on the opposition party, like Hillary, FusionGPS, and the FBI/DOJ spied on Trump
22. Block voter ID laws to ensure fraud, and promote "vote harvesting" to steal elections
23. Refuse to provide funding for border walls/security, which DHS says is desperately needed.
24. Give $Trillions to Mexico and Central America for a Marshal Plan, but not help US citizens living in tent cities
25. Impose gun control, outlaw private gun sales, outlaw AR style rifles, restrict sales of bullets, etc.
26. "Green New Deal" Impose a "carbon tax" to punish anyone who works, heats their home, flies, or has a car
27. Anti-business democrat socialists caused Amazon to flee NYC taking 25,000 good paying jobs to VA
28. REPARATIONS to blacks to pay for slavery, $trillions owed by US voters
29. Excuse the murder of unwanted newborns, i.e. "infanticide"
30. Change the Electoral College to popular vote
31. All prisoners get to vote, even the Boston Marathon Bomber, so says Bernie
32. Trannys back in the military
33. Increase domestic surveillance, especially on "white supremacist" organizations
34. Add Senators and congressmen for DC and Puerto Rico
35. Be sure that any "red flag" laws exclude gang members (only get those rural guns)
36. Full welfare and free healthcare for illegal immigrants
37. Eliminate Hallmark channel for being racist, sexist and anti-LGBTQ
38. Eliminate the "cash bail system" whereby all criminals walk out after committing a crime.
39. Nationalize all of the electric utilities making them green by 2030
40. Pass "The New Way Forward Act", bringing back 480,000 deported illegals, giving them free everything
41. Defund all police departments
Joe Biden has a plan for that
Not a joke, folks: He’s running on a transformative policy agenda.www.vox.com
If anything, you are proving my point. On almost all of those issues the Republicans are no better than the Democrats. I just got tired of pointing out your hypocrisy. As another example. Puerto Rico has consistantly voted not to become a state. Making them one when they do not want it would be a can of worms the Democrats don't want. DC would require a Constitutional Amendment. The Constitution, that document you are so ignorant of, and apparently detest with a passion, is not quite dead yet, although you extremists on both sides who believe your own propaganda are trying valiantly to kill it.

3. Free college and free healthcare for illegals is a democrat promise.

4. Healthcare is not rationed now, its pay for service, unless you have health insurance. If you think its bad now, just wait until hospitals close due to low "Medicare" reimbursements, and they get swamped by illegals looking for free healthcare. Chronic pain patients get the medication they need and is medically justified.
6. Promote globalism. Just look at the Bidens. Hunter getting $83,000 a month from Burisma. Then Hunter gets $1,500,000,000 from China to "invest". I like Trump's populist agenda of punishing China and bringing jobs back to the US. (now Biden plagiarized Trump "populist" agenda?????)
7. You are wrong about the Paris Climate Change "Treaty". Obama approved because he couldn't get Senate approval.
The Paris Agreement Is a Treaty. Treat It as Such. | National Review
Too many issues have been entrusted to unaccountable cliques that purport to know better how to run people’s lives than the people do.www.nationalreview.com
8. You are wrong again about Trade Agreements. Its not just "free trade" that matters, but "fair trade". China has a $500b a year trade surplus. Tell me that's "fair". Trump, Navarro, and Lightheizer are doing God's work.
12. Look at the reduction of opioid deaths under Trump. Its not just meth, its also fentanyl.
16. The number of US hospitals has held fairly constant since 1975. Medicare for all would close rural hospitals.
Rural Hospitals Say ‘Medicare For All’ Would End Up 'Closing Our Doors'
Hospital administrators from Texas to Maine say adopting a single-payer government health care program that covers all Americans would force more rural hospitals to close.www.wbur.org
18. Pack the supreme court. That has been tried, by FDR, and found unconstitutional.
Judicial Procedures Reform Bill of 1937 - Wikipedia

20. Using the Federal government to punish political opponents is inherently wrong.
Using Federal agents to protect Federal property from rioters is legal/lawful. i.e. the law says "DHS shall protect..."
So States Rights are fine for what? Abortion? Guns? But not Immigration. There the States MUST enforce Immigration law. Um. You know that is unconstitutional right? It is called an Unfunded Mandate. If you want the Local Cops to enforce Immigration Law, you have to pay for it. That is why the Sheriff's no longer do Background Checks for the Brady Law. They were mandated to do so, but never reimbursed for the expense, and the Supreme Court ruled it was unconstitutional to require that. Now, the FBI manages it. It is their problem. Why if we don't require the County Sheriff's to oversee a phone call to check if someone is eligible to buy a weapon, do we expect those same cops to enforce Immigration laws?
Courts have regularly held that ICE Detainer Requests are Unconstitutional. In fact, the Police themselves can be found liable, criminally and Civilly, for holding someone for ICE based upon a Detainer Request.
Now, help me out here. Where in the Constitution does it say that local cops have to heed the Detainer Requests? It doesn't, which is why several courts and even ICE themselves have agreed that it is a voluntary request. A voluntary request. Think about that. ICE says that the request has no legal validity. But you want to punish the States and Cities for not obeying an unconstitutional voluntary request.
All laws derive their authority from the Constitution.
Healthcare is not rationed? Really? Great. Explain how you get on the Transplant list for a heart. First, you have to be diagnosed by a Doctor. Then the Doctor has to fill out forms to the Transplant Committee. That Committee will decide first, if you even get on the list. Second, where on the list you should go. Let's say you're a smoker who has a history many years ago of doing drugs. Guess what, down on the list you go, if you make it on the list. Your life will end without you even getting near the top to the next available.
People die every day waiting on transplants. So how is that not rationed? One heart, a hundred patients who need it. Or is it based upon who can pay? If so, our health care system and the transplant lists are just what? Kabuki theater to make sure the Rich keep getting our organs when we die?
Supply and Demand has been in effect since the first days of anything. When Demand outstrips supply, there is always a way to ration the care. And it is rationed through those systems like Transplant lists. Doubt me? Look it up yourself. https://www.ucsfhealth.org/education/faq-heart-transplant
Where you end up on the list depends on how many risk factors you have, if you have too many, no list for you. You just die. So tell me that is not rationed care?
1. State's Rights do NOT include any immigration authority. That's just the way it is.
Red states support immigration law, Blue states violate immigration law. A phone call or two to ICE about a dangerous criminal is NOT that expensive. Tell the Steinle family its an "unfunded mandate". Its not enforcing immigration law, its a few phone calls to save lives.Federal vs. State Immigration Laws - FindLaw
Immigration is regulated at the federal level, chiefly under the rules established in 1952 with the passage of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA).immigration.findlaw.com
2. ICE detainers are legal. Its a fucking phone call after they are arrested, but before they are released, its a "courtesy call".
An ICE detainer request is just that: a request. There is no legal requirement for your department to comply. The federal government has no legal right to force your department to hold anyone beyond the time when they are eligible for release from state or local custody.Detainers
www.ice.gov
3. I was talking about routine healthcare not being rationed, not rare transplants. Organs are NOT RATIONED, they rarely become available. Its an availability issue, not a healthcare rationing issue.
If the suspect has a warrant the police hold them. They are required to. Perfectly constitutional. A phone call to ICE before you release them is another problem. If asked to hold the guy you are holding them without charges. That is a crime. It is called illegally detaining someone.
Now if ICE had proof this guy was dangerous they could get a warrant. But they don’t want a warrant. A warrant means lawyers and a trial about the crimes. They want the dangerous criminal as you call him deported not in prison for his crimes. That way the dangerous criminal can come back across the border.
So this outrage over these dangerous criminals is false. It is hyperbole. ICE does not want to make sure he pays for the taps and murders he may have committed. They just want him gone. That does not protect anyone. How many times have we seen a guy who was deported more than once?
If they were so determined to make sure this dangerous criminal was safely away from the citizens they would insure he was charged with the crime and a warrant was issued. That way even the cops in Berkeley would hold him if they found him. Failure to hold onto a guy who has a warrant is also a crime. Then you could have a real complaint against the sanctuary cities.
Right now your real complaint is against ICE who is determined to insure the guy is free to return across the border instead of sending him to prison for his crimes.
So now, instead of dangerous rapists and murderers, we are demanding Sanctuary Cities heed Voluntary Detainer Requests because if they don't, an Illegal Alien will commit a DUI? Seriously?
My ancestors came here when Immigration was essentially open. Ships filled to capacity with poor people from all over Europe. I am sure that if I was ever bored enough, I could find my Great Grandfather's names in the books at Ellis Island. If you've ever seen The Godfather II, you saw the flood of Immigrants that were pouring into this nation at that time.
Racism in those days was against the Drunken Irish who were taking the jobs. Children who were taking the jobs at factories. People who showed up not speaking the language. During World War I, Zimmerman, who had just ascended to the position of Foreign Minister of Germany, said that if the United States went to War, there were a Million German Americans who would rise up and fight right there in America.
Yet, none of them did. Because being American was more important to them than being of German Descent. It only takes a generation or two, if that long for loyalty to a Country that welcomed them starts to win out.
In many of my other posts, I had suggested a similar approach to Immigration today. The Immigration that let my family branches arrive from Norway, England, Ireland, and Scotland. My Father used to talk about his Grandfather who still spoke Norwegian. We could easily set up another Ellis Island type immigrant screening center. I have talked before about the need to screen immigrants for diseases that could decimate the population. Also criminal record checks.
As for why the Cities are taking this approach. Let's be serious. Just for a moment. Let's be serious. Do you really think that ICE is going to round up the millions of Illegals? Do you seriously believe that? Please tell me you aren't that out of touch with reality. If ICE is not going to round up the millions that are here. And we don't know how many millions it is. We have estimates from 10 to 12.5 million. So rounding up five or so percent of the population of this country is just not going to happen. The exact same way it is not going to happen when they start talking about banning guns. There are not enough cops to get them all.
Especially when you consider new ones are coming across the border pretty much every single day. It is impossible. So the reality is that they are here, and like Marijuana users, you have to decide how much effort is wasted in trying to stop it. The Cities and States are shifting to the attitude that Pot is not worth the trouble. No, this does not help me at all. I am allergic to Marijuana. So even if it was sold at every corner store, I would not be using it, unless the idea of intensive care units is an attractive one. A lesson I learned at the age of 14 when I got very ill from Pot.
Now, the disadvantages of going after the Illegals. You say serious crimes. Ok. A murder happens. It is a cop who is killed. The police spread out to find out who saw what, and if anyone knows anything. The only witnesses are illegals. They know if they tell the cops what they saw, they're going to be deported thanks to the zero tolerance nonsense. So they say nothing. They hide from the cops. And a murder goes unsolved. A fire breaks out and the Illegals are afraid of calling 911. A rape, a kidnapped child. A missing woman.
Cops have informants. People ho commit little crimes, and help them solve bigger crimes. Cities and States that have embraced the Sanctuary attitude believe that illegal immigration is a small crime, much smaller than the ones they would have unsolved if they paid attention to it. Does it make sense? Some. There is obviously some truth to it, but I don't think it is the whole answer.
The truth is that Immigration is a complicated issue. One where there are some truths on both sides of the issue, and here is the key. The truths are that both sides are using it as a cudgel to shake at their political enemies. The Left uses it to show how irrational and racist the Right is, and the Right uses it to show the Left is pro criminals and crime. Neither side tells the whole truth, and that is where the core beliefs come in, or the lack of them. Neither side wants to solve the issue. They just want to keep bashing the other side with it. As in the case of Abortion. The Right doesn't want to see it banned any more than the left does. Because the Right does not want to see a million more babies, no matter the color, born to poor who will need food stamps and welfare money. They don't want their mistresses to have the babies that the 90% successful birth control pills allow to happen.
The truth is that both sides are right about most issues, and wrong about most issues. There is some truth to either side, and we cold compromise if we had core beliefs and respect for one another. We have no respect, and we have no core beliefs, and so the problems are never addressed, much less solved
1. Immigration is a Federal responsibility, and they enforce immigration Laws, period. A "courtesy" phone call to ICE the day before an illegal criminal is released is not a financial burden, its a fucking phone call.
2. Trump wants "merit based" immigration policy for the workers the US needs, but:
3. If there are 10m-13m illegals here in the US they had better be law abiding, and self-supporting
- No catch & release
- No diversity lottery
- No asylum claims unless pre-approved
- No chain migration
- No birthright citizenship, i.e. no cottage industry for anchor babies from Russia & China.
- DACA kids get green cards but NOT citizenship
4. Keeping illegal criminals here because we need illegal "witnesses" is a dumb argument.
5. Agree that the immigration debate has strange bedfellows. Old money GOP likes the cheap labor. Democrats like the new voters and throw their voters' pay raises under the bus. Agree neither side wants to solve the issue as we saw during Trump's 1st 2-years when Ryan and the Chamber of Commerce stopped immigration reform.
6. I disagree that we can't compromise, but its because the "core beliefs" of the bases are so far apart. Here are the democrat's preferred policies. The Republican's are the polar opposite. So we'll play "ping-pong" with the Laws as both side take their turn running DC.
- Open borders, tear down the southern border fence/wall

- Free college
- "Medicare for all", aka rationed healthcare, "Lois Lerner" in charge of your access to healthcare

My reply was about the Immigration issue, and since you choose to ignore it and instead once again post the list that I already covered in far too much detail. Let's cover this fucking phone call.
Ok. Right now those who are Illegal are not going to cause any more problems than anyone other group when they are arrested for a DUI, or any other minor crime in those Sanctuary Cities. Now, let's put you in their shoes for a moment. Let's say you come from Honduras. You left Honduras because the Gangs that controlled the area your family came from were going to kill you, and did in fact kill your Father because Dad would not grow the right crop. And that happens. A lot in the more rural areas.
So going home is a death sentence. Worse, even if you aren't killed, you have roughly 2,000 miles to walk to get back to what you think of as home. In that case, fighting the cops makes a hell of a lot more sense doesn't it? How about killing a cop? If you knew when he pulled you over that the odds were a coin toss that you would be taken from your family, wife and children, for essentially life, wouldn't you kill a cop? Before you say no, remember the Conservatives on here including yourself embrace the idea of fighting those same Government Forces for your Second Amendment Rights. You do know that is what the Molon Labe thing is all about right?
That makes every traffic stop, every arrest ten times more dangerous for the cops in those Sanctuary Cities. Because despite the propaganda from ICE, we know they are just lazy grabbing anyone that the local cops are getting in jail for whatever petty crime we are talking about. Not the Murderers, we have dispensed with that myth. Not the Rapists, again that myth has been dispensed with.
So we are left with 10 or 12 million illegals, that is the estimates from among others the Federal Government. Do we really think that ICE are going to round them all up? Obviously you do not. Let's seriously consider that for a moment though.
Many of these people are from areas other than Mexico. Let's say that one in five is from South America. That means we have to pay for plane tickets for them all to go home. We do not deport them to Mexico unless they are from Mexico. Even then you are talking about Busses to the Border at a minimum. But let's say that four million of them have to go to South America. Work with me on the Math. Let's say it cost five hundred bucks for a plane ticket. That comes up to two billion dollars for transportation. Two billion dollars. All the while more are coming across the border every single day.
When we finally get past that original four million people plane tickets, we have another couple million to send back, and that is another billion dollars in plane tickets. This is starting to sound really expensive.
But wait, when they request to stay we have to have a hearing don't we? At least put it in front of an immigration judge to get the deportation order. That could take some time. A few months, a couple years. These folks are not picked up in Los Angeles by ICE and deported the next week. Like everything concerning the legal system, they have to prove the guy is here illegally, and then show where he comes from. If he says Argentina, and you can not prove otherwise, you have to send him to Argentina, if Argentina will take him. Oh No, Diplomacy comes in. More delays.
Argentina want's to make sure the guy really is one of their Citizens before letting him in. A records check. Probably we have to pay for that too, I mean, American Citizens driving trucks had to pay a fee to be processed back into the Country before 9-11, and I have no doubt it is similar today. So why wouldn't Argentina charge a fee to check to make sure that this guy is really one of their citizens.
If you just stick him on a plane, without a passport, or visa, or court order valid in Argentina, they're going to put him right back on the plane and send him back to you.
So all these delays are adding up, and we have to house and feed and provide medical care, the things you detest about the Illegals in the first place, how they are costing us money. And this takes a year or more sometimes, even several years. So now what would that cost? How many millions to house and feed them?
All of this reality and common sense. Now, how about those Sheriff's who declare their counties Sanctuary Counties for the Second Amendment. Why would they do that? Isn't obeying the law a duty? Partly it is political, and partly it is safety of the cops. That Sheriff knows that by doing otherwise, he risks the cops doing traffic stops and serving warrants and subpoena's. Using your Molon Labe thing, let's say you have a gun, and you know that the guns have been banned in the country. The Cop pulling you over for a bad tail light, may search the car, and if he does you're going to prison. For exercising your rights. Come and Take them means you are going to fight, you are going to kill the cop who is going to try and take them.
But if you know the local cops are not enforcing that law, would you kill them? Why would any other person fight less for their life than you declare you would?
