Cop shootings up 60 pct 2024 on pace to set record for police officers shot: Report

When you say there isn't a legal reason to prevent illegals from entering your nation, in some cases you are actually flying them in, this leads to a broader domino effect which some may not immediately recognize.

Under such a pretext of an overt disregard for laws, you aren't just telling the world "we have no laws", you are telling those who break laws that they have no need to respect those who enforce the laws. It could even be argued that those enforcing the laws are now deemed as the enemy for trying to enforce the laws, since, "hey there aren't any laws!"

Even most criminals have a respect and appreciation for those who enforce the laws. Except, when those criminals are being told that there AREN'T any laws. Not in your cities, in stores, or, even at your border.

This is obviously an extremely complicated issue, it is thoroughly social though. Can we see the trend becoming worse? Almost certainly.

biden's inflation is every where.

Well, like most of your "biden inflation", it's imaginary.

10 officers killed by gunfire in the first three months of this year (according to the Copaganda site, "Officer Down Memorial Page". So if that number holds, it will be 40 this year. By way of comparison, that number was 47 for 2023. 61 in 2022, and 63 in 2021. For the Trump years, that number was 47 in 2020 (despite Trump Riots) and 48 in 2019, and 52 in 2018.

Again, this "sounds" horrible, but in a country as gun crazy as this one is, no one should be surprised.

On the other hand, despite police reform, the number of people being killed BY police has gone up. The only interesting "change" is that police departments are no longer reporting the race of the people they are killing. (YOu know, rather than just admitting they kill a disportionate number of people of color.

Actually, it really isn't.

We have a law. A law that says that if you come from a country with political oppression, you can claim asylum. You are entitled to a hearing and are issued a work Visa until your case can be investigated and resolved within 180 days.

The problem is, Trump and Steven Miller dismantled that system, and people have been waiting years for their hearing. My wife claimed asylum from China in 2017. Seven years later, she was still waiting for her hearing, but we are going for a Marriage sponsorship instead. That will take a year and a half.

If citizens have to flee a country due to government oppression and we support these governments, maintain good relations and help their economies, what does that say about us?

That we have stupid policies.

We could reduce the number of people trying to flee here with generous aid packages.

We should also stop punishing countries for having governments we don't like. The big contributor to undocumented immigration is Venezuela, which we've spent the last 20 years for thinking Socialism is nifty.

Tyrone, learn to use the quote feature properly.

I backed up my info with facts, thanks.

No, there are not more cops being shot. Very few cops are shot compared to the number of people they shoot.
