The killing happened 8 months ago but what we laughingly call the "law" just announced no charges will be filed.!!! They knew all along they would not file but for 8 months they said "It's a continuing investigation" and then when the public forgets about the killing they let the cop go.

1newsjunkie Deputy who killed former Napster COO after drifting into the bike lane while distracted by his laptop will NOT face charges because he was answering a work-related email

California prosecutors have declined to file charges against a sheriff's deputy who struck and killed a prominent entertainment attorney and former Napster executive with his patrol car last year.

Deputy Andrew Wood was apparently distracted by his mobile digital computer when his patrol car drifted into the bike lane, running over cyclist Milton Olin Jr.

Olin, a 65-year-old attorney and former chief operating officer of the online file-sharing service Napster, was riding in Calabasas in December when he was hit.

They claim he was answering a work-related e-mail??!! Even if true how does that excuse anything?

The family of the boy could always threaten to sue the police department if they don't have that cop take the hit that he should have taken for killing their son.

God bless you and the boy's family always!!!

It's a tragic event, but I see a civil suit in the future. After this story's national exposure this will not end quietly for his police department.

Any civil suit will be against the city not the cop. This cop is gonna get off no penalty.
