Clinton's lead over Trump would increase with Sanders out of the race

I heard that on the morning shows; that Clinton will regain her lead once she wins the nomination, as Trump has, but I think it is not the same.

Hillary has fewer people to pick up. She's the establishment candidate, not the one bringing in the new people.

Bernie is bringing in new people who are are not party regulars. They have no skin in keeping the Dem Party going. If they are disappointed, there is no reason for them to compromise.

  • On the other hand, Trump vanquished the establishment and they do have a stake to keep the party going. So they do have a reason to get on board.

Oh boo hoo, if only Hillary had no competition, and didn't have the FBI CRIMINAL investigation, and only if she wasn't corrupt and inept, and only if she had a personality, then she would be leading.

Yet, like all libtards, you forget who will elect Trump. If you ever knew...

Every poll that shows Hillary vs Trump, envisions Sanders out of the race.

Sanders supporters should have been able to understand that.

Polls are pointless before a choice is established. Neither of those two names IS established yet.

Fer fuck's sake, summa y'all who have been at it already for two years are like the little kid in the back seat who keeps shrieking ARE WE THERE YET? Take a pill already.

Sanders will be effectively be knocked out on June 7, Hillary is going to smash him in Jersey by 25 points/ landslide and will beat him in California but by much closer margin, Sanders will should be about broke by then he shot his whole load on that one last Gamble that probaly won't work out in his favor:clap2:, Hillary will win North California, Bay area by 25-30 points...

Once Sanders is out officially done she will pass Trump in polling:deal:
I have this feeling Bernie Sanders is in this to the last minute...there is something in this whole scenario that Sanders is after...perhaps because he may realize this is his last hurrah...leaving his mark as the one Independent who, an admitted Socialist has gotten this close to be elected President. This is just a General Response and not meant towards the above respondent. Simply my view of the Sanders Campaign.
  • Bernie Sanders Doesn't Say No to Hypothetical Clinton VP Slot
NBC News' Meet The Press ^ | May 29, 2016 | Sally Bronston
Would Bernie Sanders agree to be Hillary Clinton's running mate? He didn't rule it out when asked about it on NBC's "Meet the Press." Sanders told Chuck Todd he's focused on the California primary, but stopped short of refusing the offer should Clinton ask. "Here we are in California, I'm knocking my brains out to win the Democratic nomination," Sanders said. "What happens afterwards, we will see. But right now, my focus is on winning the nomination." The Vermont Senator called the California primary "the big enchilada." While Sanders admitted winning more pledged delegates than Secretary Clinton is an "uphill...

Well DUH. Why would anybody running for POTUS go "but sure, I'll take a lower rung"? Dumbass.

Now you and those that voted for Clinton will laugh at this notion but the reality is Sanders is not a Democrat and those voting for him are the Independent\Progressive\Third Party voter and not the Establishment voter.

All true, BUT .... once the candidates are named, Independents etc still have to vote for somebody. They're certainly not going to go to Rump.

Independents will not vote a lunatic that changes his mind every day. Donnie will be revealed as the fraud he is in the debates. He will repeat over and over and over "Crooked Hillary...Crooked Hilary...Crooked Hillary" all the while he is fight a fraud and deception case in New York concerning the Dump University.

“Could Clinton win those Sanders-only supporters if she becomes the nominee? Maybe not all of them, but a good deal of the current hard feelings have come from the protracted fight for the Democratic nod.

In terms of policy and politics, most Sanders supporters are probably more in line with Clinton than Trump. They voted in Democratic nominating contests and polls show most of them are more politically liberal than Clinton supporters.
[…]
In the latest CBS News/New York Times poll, Clinton's advantage grows from six points to nine points with 70 percent of Sanders-only voters - she leads 50 percent to 41 percent. In the latest Fox News poll, where Trump currently leads Clinton, the Sanders-only voters make it a tied race - 45 percent to 45 percent.”

Even if Clinton gets 60 or 50 percent of the vote from former Sanders supporters, that still gives her a clear advantage over Trump; and those disgruntled former Sanders supporters who refuse to vote for Clinton certainly won’t be voting for the likes of Trump – they’ll vote third party, or write-in, or just stay home on Election Day.

Democratic-leaning independents certainly won’t, along with a good number of weak democrats – the very voters any GOP candidate needs to win.

Not in closed democratic primaries.

And even in open primaries a significant number of Sanders voters were registered democrats who’d have no problem voting against Trump by casting a ballot for Clinton.

A Lunatic like Dump will never be president....and if he is....God Help Us All!

Americans will never vote for a lunatic?

Hmmm, then Nixon must have never been President nor was Andrew Jackson or George W. Bush, right?

The American population is stupid and to deny this is just you being partisan. The reality is people ( including myself ) claimed the GOP would never nominate the idiot, and he got nominated.

So the reality is Trump could end up being President and if Clinton does not get the Hispanics to come out in mass and also get those that voted for President Obama then she can kiss this election goodbye.

I actually believe those like you are being naive or just partisan when viewing the reality of this election. Hillary Clinton has too much baggage and many on the left and right are looking at possible third party candidates, and I have stated many times my vote is going to Gary Johnson ( he almost lost the damn nomination because he is not as radical the Libertarians would like him to be ), and I believe those that are voting for Sanders will either go Green or stay home and not vote for Clinton.

So you better hope for that Hispanic vote come November and remember the two states the Hispanic vote could sway the vote in that is not Democratic already is Texas and Florida, and Texas is a uphill battle for both of them and could be a surprise this November same for Florida...

No Clinton will not get the big bounce you are wishing for and she is wounded and the GOP is slinking behind Trump while holding their damn noses and it look like Rubio is positioning for VP too...

As I wrote they will most likely vote third party or stay home and yes some will vote for Clinton but I believe there will not be enough to swing red states at all and may not be enough in purple states either...

He is abandoning the ground game and data analysis. He is counting on his rallies where he tells everyone how rich he is. Cool!

Not yet he didn't. Why come so many of y'all wanna live in the future?

I doubt it.

This is a message board, not the real world. The Tinfoiler theories about how Bernie voters are the same as Rump voters, about how Hillary's going to prison for life, about this, about that, are just emotional farts in the wind. Not to be taken seriously.

I'm not "wishing for" anything. My calendar says "May". Neither major party has even made a nomination yet.

Hispanics will and he won't

Absolutely hasn't got a clue...and not just on politics!

  • Some Hispanics Face Ridicule Over Support for Trump
    Real Clear Politics ^ | May 28, 2016 | Steve Peoples & Jill Colvin
ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) -- Hispanic voters in Florida, New Mexico and California have waved Mexican flags and bashed Donald Trump piñatas - clashing with police, at times - to protest the Republican presidential contender's hard line approach to immigration. Yet far from the protests, an increasingly vocal Hispanic minority is speaking out in favor of the brash billionaire. They are backing Trump even in the face of resentment and suspicion from friends and family, who are among the overwhelming majority of non-white voters opposed to the New York businessman's candidacy...

Clinton Lead Over Trump Would Grow Without Sanders in The Race

Trump has an uphill battle to capture the electoral college, as would any republican.

Yeah, these head to head polls are for drama purposes to draw ratings. Trump has a serious electoral college problem, not to mention his funding issues. Estimates are that Clinton will be able to out fundraise Trump 2 to 1. Sanders will have a significant say in the Dem platform which will draw his supporters to the Clinton camp - possibly even as a VP pick, although I have my doubts about the VP slot.
Trump is just a ridiculously bad choice for the GOP.
