Most of the folks surrounding you here in this forum have been arguing about global warming for several years. The chestnut you've just pulled out of your ass [GW -> CC] could have easily stayed where it was. Global warming is part of climate change. The increased temperature of the Earth will have other effects besides new readings from our thermometers. The name was not changed and the term "climate change" did not appear because the Earth was not warming. It has been warming pretty consistently since the last real hiatus ended in the early 1970s.

That is how they work they keep changing the name of things to confuse the public, like how they changed Al Qaeda to ISIS, IS and ISIL.

All the Scientific Societies of the world, all the National Academies of Science, and all the major Universities state that AGW is real, and a clear and present danger. Scientists are nothing more than humans. They might certainly push their agenda for personal tribute, fame and fortune.

But the question of if humanity has the ability to influence the climate seems to be hard to deny. IF we blow up every nuke we have - will it affect life on Earth? Yes. From there on, down to make a fire in a cave is a slippery slope.

So the basic idea is to be humble. We have impact - we have responsibilities. As always. What's in the pipe isn't easy to tell, but it's fair to assume that the less impact we make the clearer the picture of nature basic behaviour will be. The task of predicting and take precautions will be easier.

To some extent I also think some scientists are to blame for lack of humbleness. They believe they can forsee and manipulate nature.

What is bothersome is the polarised stances. Either people aren't ready to sacrifice one breath or commodity for the sake of climate - or everything you do has to be calculated against a possible climate effect.

I think everyone should generally cut everyone some slack.
