Clearly the GOP violated the Logan Act. Should they be prosecuted?

You ignore and deny what is truth and fact and insist that people prove what is already proven. You need to get out more often -- out into the real world.

:laugh2:

So it's so intuitively clear that Republicans violated the Logan Act you shouldn't have to do your own research, we should do it for you. And you shouldn't even have to identify what they did, we need to figure that out too. And because we don't just believe the liberal blogs where you do your research, that's on us. Yeah
nothing to figure out -- it's an old story with a long history.

pardon me for assuming you are well informed.

...Most all our modern Presidents have tried to make the executive branch stronger. Get over yourself. Stop studying your pocket constitution as if it were a pocket bible :laugh2:
Your Honor, the Prosecution rests.

God Save the Republic.

You see? The Constitution is NOT sacred or the word from on high. It got it's legitimacy only after it was ratified by the people. It is the people's agreement. Do the nutjobs you hang around with have Constitution Meetings where like Bible studies, you find your own personal meanings and relate it to your own personal relationships with the framers?

What nut-jobs would those be, pissant?

The US Constitution is, indeed, 'sacred', in a secular sense.

It is the Social Contract by which we govern ourselves - a living, breathing, flexible, time-tested and time-honored compact - our foundational Charter.

Untold millions of men and women over the past 220+ years have sworn oaths to uphold and defend that same Constitution and the People and the manner of government that it represents, and several millions have shed their blood - through death or grave injury - in order to fulfill those oaths.

That blood renders the US Constitution sacred, in that same secular sense; people take it very seriously, and object strenuously when it is being ignored or circumvented.

When you defend your Untrusted Autocrat of a President, by declaring that his opponents need to stop yammering about the Constitution, you paint yourself as an Enemy of the United States and, more importantly and despicably, as an Enemy of The People.

No wonder you spring to the Failed Messiah's defense so vigorously, ridiculing the US Constitution along the way, as the basis for your defense.

There's a very real and discernible pattern and symmetry along these lines, amongst those who so engage.

"Your Honor, the Prosecution rests."

Fortunately, there aren't very many of you left.

Orgasmic ObamaBots have been falling by the wayside left-and-right... rats deserting the sinking ship... as his fortunes wane, and the game-clock on his second term winds down, and as more and more ObamaBots begin to recover their sanity - sometimes merely by completing the process of growing up or maturing.

Come January 20, 2017... the long national nightmare will be over.

And folks such as yourself - heaping ridicule upon those who honor the US Constitution, in order to defend arbitrary social engineering and disadvantageous foreign policy initiatives - will no longer have a standard-bearer at the pinnacle of power in this country.

Thank God.

So it's just intuitively obvious the Republicans violated the Logan Act that you can't show they did or even state what specifically violated it. You just reek of intelligence. LOL. Dante is a partisan hack. I don't grasp how any of you people can love a political party to just blindly worship them like that. Here's a tip, Holmes, they both suck

ALL politics and politicians 'suck'. Even the good ones.

But there is 'suck' and there is 'evil'

dimocraps are plain evil. fucking period.

They're worse than people like Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, etc.

At least those people were fighting what they perceived as oppression by a Royalist Class.

What the FUCK are scum of the earth dimocrap filth fighting?

Since Dante has no content, including to back up his own points, I’ll go ahead and do content for us both. Democrats can’t possibly get away with this.

1) 10th Amendment – Clearly a private citizen cannot create a binding treaty since the executive branch negotiates them and the Senate ratifies them, but what authority does the Constitution give the government to restrict what American citizens say to foreign governments? What is the Constitutional authority for the Logan Act? No authority, it’s not Constitutional

2) 1st Amendment – The Senators did not discuss it with the Iranians, they didn’t even directly correspond with them. They only put a statement on the web the President cannot ratify a treaty so it’s not binding without them. If W tried to restrict Democratic Senators from stating their view, Dante would be squealing like a stuck pig about their Constitutional right to free speech

3) Treaty Ratification: Senators are even part of this process, the Constitution specifically gives them the power of advice and consent. They are actually a named party in the treaty process. Where does the Constitution say they have to STFU until the treaty is signed and sent to them for ratification?

On a side note, I’d love Democrats to go for this or something similar. But here’s why I’d like to see it happen. There has been a line neither of you have been willing to cross. That is the criminalization of politics. Democrats didn’t even go after W. Why? Once that line is crossed, you leave power, Republicans will do it to your politicians.

Democrats are the ideological whack jobs. You’re the ones willing to screw yourself in the future for a gain today. Republicans are weak and pathetic. You cross this line, every administration change will come with witch hunts that will shut down DC for years as the party in power settles old scores. Then the other party will do it to them, and so on and so on.

You two parties take the war directly to each other, you’ll lose so much distraction to your agreement now to insult each other but screw the American people instead. Go for it, make my day. But it won’t happen. And that’s exactly why. Obama, Pelosi, Reid, they all know they do this what will happen to them when Republicans take over. 2016, 2020, don’t know when. But it will happen. Then Republicans will shut down DC going after you as you want to shut down DC now to go after them

Repubs falling over themselves to appease a foreign country w/ a powerful lobby and betray their own country,. 'twas ever thus. Repubs- party before country.

Republicans are trying to appease Jews who overwhelmingly vote Democrat. Got it. It's so great to get the inside scoop from someone as clearly informed and intelligent as you are...

1) Just because you say a law is unconstitutional doesn't make it so. Fool that you are you glossed over where Dante clearly says the act has never been seriously challenged and Dante thinks it would NOt pass constitutional muster.
So, huge fail on 1)

2)
The Logan Act is clear. Congress could try arguments about fact finding missions, prerogatives, and other issues, but the act stands as laws and it is clear. You clearly missed the fact that Dante often defended and defends W against attacks from the left of the type rightwing nuts like you throw at O'B
one more huge fail on 2)

3) . The Congress clearly went beyond the bounds of advice and consent, and it is the Senate not the House that has that role. You appear to be confusing truths and facts with opinions and further you keep dealing with strereotypes and caricatures that fail as often as your logic (if any exists at all) does

To everything, fail, fail fail , there is a reason fail, fail, fail...and to every single wingut, there is purpose -- unintelligible
