Claire McCaskill: Spend Money On U.S. Infrastructure, Not Troubled Afghanistan

So, who disagrees with spending money on US infrastructure instead of Afghanistan's, and why?
Uh, for one thing...foreign aide is one of the very FEW things our federal government is SUPPOSE to be doing!

The other thing is, MOST of what you guys are calling infrastructure...like water systems are Municipals, either county or city and the city or county is responsible for them. The federal government should not STEAL a million bucks from my county and then send 250,000 back and tell us to fix it!

THAT IS THE DAMN PROBLEM PEOPLE!

How freakin' thick ARE people? DAMN!

Why don't one of you tell me just exactly HOW ol' Claire or any other jackwagon up in Washington knows what the hell we need to do with our money over here in western Kentucky!

This is FOOLISHNESS! The talk of an "Infrastructure Bank." You KNOW what that is don't ya? Just another lame as progressive tactic to further centralize wealth in Washington and gain more control over the states. It is a further erosion of the Constitution...AND YOU ARE FALLING FOR IT!

STOP IT!!!

Make it illegal to spend tax dollars on anything not made in America.

Felony level illegal.

Very interesting concept....

Null and void all tax codes that support making money from abroad!

If USA corp america wants favorable tax codes they should apply for such in China,Pakistan, india,Canada etc etc etc

Translation of Claire's message:

"I will lose my seat if I don't make some populist statements."

Sorry Claire, you're still going to lose.

In fact, by the time the second Bush left office, the national debt had grown to $12.1 trillion:

* Over half of that amount had been created by Bush’s tax cuts for the very wealthy.

* Another 30% of the national debt had been created by the tax cuts for the wealthy under Presidents Reagan and George H.W. Bush.

• Fully 81% of the national debt was created by just these three Republican Presidents.

EVERYONE knows that it is a problem and that it is only going to get more expensive down the road yet we just cannot develop the political will to do it. This is something that should never be a political football yet it is. Maybe if a few bridges collapse the budget hawks will decide Americans are worth it.

Everyone knows about this and just hope it goes away I guess.
The left as always will blame this on the republicans and Bush
in particular as they always do.
The Republicans will get all pissed off about that and nothing will get done.

Instead of using their heads and finding a way to get stuff done
these guys use this stuff to play politics....

Your numbers are lies.

Obama: Victory in Afghanistan "is vital to our national interest".

Obama: "I am convinced our security is at stake in Afghanistan (and Pakistan)"

Obama: "[Afghanistan] is the epicenter of violent extremism practiced by Al-qaeda."

So who is wrong, Obama or McCaskill?

The Washington Post reports that the terrorist group founded by Osama bin Laden is all but dead:

The leadership ranks of the main al-Qaeda terrorist network, once expansive enough to supervise the plot for Sept. 11, 2001, have been reduced to just two figures whose demise would mean the group’s defeat, U.S. counterterrorism and intelligence officials said.

Ayman al-Zawahiri and his second in command, Abu Yahya al-Libi, are the last remaining “high-value” targets of the CIA’s drone campaign against al-Qaeda in Pakistan, U.S. officials said....“We have rendered the organization that brought us 9/11 operationally ineffective,” a senior U.S. counterterrorism official said. Asked what exists of al-Qaeda’s leadership group beyond the top two positions, the official said: “Not very much. Not any of the world-class terrorists they once had.”

However, pretty much the entire rest of the piece is devoted to "U.S. officials" telling us that (a) none of this really matters, (a) al-Qaeda remains an enormous threat, and (c) we can't afford any kind of reduction in our overseas military presence. So don't let this get your hopes up.

Who says they are Al Qaeda?

Claire McCaskill: Spend Money On U.S. Infrastructure, Not Troubled Afghanistan = very very fiscally prudent thinking.

Wars are money holes that kill and disable innocent troops which will cost we taxpayers trillions for at least 50 years into the future. Do they deserve it? Absolutely!

Bring em Home!!!

Ah, but so much more fun to the modern 'Conservative' to bomb someone else's baby than to make sure that our own have food, water, and shelter.
