Sorry, but I have to adamantly reject your claims here. 1. Far too many people on the Right are deeply hypocritical on this matter. 2. Far too few denounce it. In fact, I'm not sure I ever see or hear of any who do.

It's the Bush syndrome all over again. Fully in lock-step with him, until after the damage was done. Then all of a sudden...you were never with him. Yet, you still defend him.

Those on the religious right want to defund programs such as Social Security, Medicare, welfare, food stamps, healthcare, etc. What I want to know is: why aren't these so called people of God offering their homes to the homeless, food to the hungry, a coat to someone who is poor and cold?

The concept of "it takes a village" was not Secretary Clinton's idea; it originated with the teachings of Jesus. Don't take my word for it, read his words. (In some books they're in red; that should make it easier for you.)

I disagree with you TPS. Marc clearly has a brain. And he can understand our points. He just doesn't believe them for whatever reason.

You are right however. Christ was not socialist or marxist. There is absolutely nothing in the Gospel of Jesus Christ about empowering a government to take from one group of people to give to another. There is nothing about outsourcing your responsibilities to the government. There is nothing about giving away the money of others. At least, nothing positive.

The Lord did command us: Thou shalt not Steal. Thou shalt not covet.

The Prophets of the Lord did warn about trusting the government rather than being responsible citizens. And not letting our government leaders lead us to wickedness.

The Lord did tell us that we have agency: Choose this day whom you will serve.

And then He called us to come to Him of our own free will. To turn to Him and leave. To seek and find Him. To ask and recieve. To lead our families to Him.

We are supposed to give ourselves to Him. Our heart, mind, might, and strength.

We are supposed to be a light to the world. We are supposed to lift up the poor. Take care of the widow and the fatherless. We are to take care of our wives and our children. We are supposed to give to the poor, but not to forget the weighter matters of the law.

We are supposed to be one heart. One mind. We are supposed to forgive on another. And work hard. And those who are not working are not to eat.

Never one were we commanded to take from others to give to our politicians so that they can "help" others.

The Lord has created all, and He has given us our free will. It's by offering ourselves up in service to Him of our own choice that we end up doing good and building His Kingdom.
