Christian Extremism coming to America?

Maybe you should look closer at the subject about which you started this thread before shooting your mouth off. Novel concept, eh?

The reason so many Christians believe that Obama may be the Antichrist is that his name just happens to be the words Jesus used in Luke, translated from Hebrew, to describe Satan. That's not nutter tinfoil hat theory, the translation is accurate.

I've heard this before

A smiley face and a link to someone else's words to make your argument are exactly the kinds of lame responses you get from liberals. have something to say that's on topic and substantial to the facts, then say it. By using smilies, you're only broadcasting that when your turn comes, you have nothing to say.

Typical lib.

 To the atypical lib!

As for the rest, get back to me when Christians start blowing themselves up in supermarkets or something.

What about bombing abortion clinics and killing abortion doctors?

Killing gays?

Members of the most extreme faction of the anti-abortion movement met recently for a conference and banquet in the Maryland suburbs of Washington, D.C., openly celebrating activists who blow up abortion clinics and applauding proposals to execute gay people.

Supporters of the militant Army of God met Jan. 21 at a hotel in Bowie, Md., for a conference and the fifth "White Rose Banquet." During the event, numerous speakers called for violence against abortion clinics, approved of murdering abortion providers and made jokes about killing homosexuals. A report about the gathering appeared in The Independent Weekly, published in Durham, N.C.

At the banquet, the Rev. Michael Bray, pastor of Reformation Lutheran Church in Bowie, accepted an award naming him a "chaplain" in the Army of God, a shadowy group of anti-abortion militants. The award came with an added gift: a gasoline can said to have been used in an arson attack on an abortion clinic.

OK this is confusing.

"Caligirl" AND "California Girl!"

How the hell am I supposed to immediately stereotype the post if there are two similar sounding posters?!

This is the worst crisis since "boedicca" and "bodecea."

With all the talk about muslim extremism, we must consider the possibility that the Hutaree are just the tip of the iceberg. With over 1/3 of conservatives and 1/4 of self-proclaimed Republicans polled entertaining the idea that Obama is the bilbical antichrist , Fox New Channel turning to a self-proclaimed end-times prophet to explain events in Wisconsin, and the violent rhetoric of the Right, are we witnessing the birth of a new generation of Right wing fundamentalism? Right-wing terrorists have struck before, and have a record of justifying murder to achieve their political aims- with calls for more.

So perhaps we should stop worrying so much about the Muslim Brotherhood and look a little closer to home.

The post is obviously designed to be provocative but strangely enough it ties in with the Obama administration. We actually saw the Obama appointed homeland security chief warn Americans about returning Military Veterans who might be potential terrorists. This is crazy stuff that should have caused the secretary to resign. The truth is that Obama was a close friend and served on the same (lucrative) board as a genuine former domestic terrorist who should be doing time in a cell next to Charlie Manson. Bill Ayers and the notorious "weatherscum" were a gang which terrorized Americans for more than a decade. The offshoot of the weatherscum robbed banks and kidnapped people and killed Police Officers and armored car guards to finance the revolution.

WTF is "Christian extremism"? Seriously -what is that? Let's get real here and stop pretending there is even such a thing as "Christian extremism"! What possible purpose do you think it serves to turn away from being concerned that the Muslim Brotherhood -the PARENT group that spawned almost every single Islamist terrorist organization on the planet including Al Qaeda and Hamas and whose official mission is "world domination" and its offspring terrorist organizations carrying out their individual wars on every continent for this larger goal -might grab control in Egypt .....in order to pretend we have a problem with "Christian extremism" that is growing like a weed in this country! Because of what? What is dragged out as an example of this dangerous phenomenon of "Christian extremism"? THESE PEOPLE???? As if they actually represent an emerging "threat" that does or will soon be on a par with the Muslim Brotherhood and the evil they have spawned around the world?? Are you for real? Think they have some pull among Christians, such a powerful message it totally neutralizes the Word of God for Christians? Able to turn the New Testament into a game plan for mass murder to gain earthly control and have hordes of people falling for it? Such a potent message you think they can sway a big percentage of Christians to support acts of MASS MURDER? GET REAL! The term "Christian extremism" itself is an oxymoron and laughable! How do you people live with yourselves?

Now on to more REALITY! The Hutaree are not Christians at all in case you didn't know that. Wonder why people like you have such a need to paint all of Christianity with whackos like these people -as if this is a known and real phenomenon in the Christian religion no different from the very real fact that Islamofascists represent a significantly large percentage of all Muslims in the world. And you did it so you could try and tar Christianity by putting forth the LIE that "Christian extremism" even exists and that THESE people are an example of it - when in fact these people aren't Christians at all! (BTW -on which continents is this "Christian extremism" a growing threat that has people so worried and on alert? Obviously just someone's malicious imagination!) If you knew anything of substance about Christianity -you'd know how easy it was to spot the fact they are not Christians! DUH! What you should be asking YOURSELF is why you are so viciously anti-Christian you even ASSUMED these people must be Christian -and then felt driven to repeat the lie here! Where does THAT come from in you? Hmm? You really need to step back and re-examine your own inexcusable bias because there is really no justification for trying to smear Christianity with the acts of SATANISTS! And failing to do even the least bit of your own research before simply parroting the story is NO EXCUSE! These people are SATANISTS and belong to a Satanic cult! And what a surprise -they did NOT believe committing an act of mass murder of people in a mall was consistent with the practice of Christianity or an expression of Christian faith! Kind of sick YOU thought the intentions of SATANISTS to commit mass murder were somehow "Christian beliefs" frankly! These people are NOT political conservatives much less Christians!

Yet when Islamic extremists who represent a SIGNIFICANT percentage of all Muslims on the planet, repeatedly slaughter unarmed people going about their business and commit EVIL acts of mass murder over and over and over and over -you pretend ignorance about the fact their supporters are a very significant percent of all Muslims and they exist on every single continent. It is Muslim extremists who have a nonstop supply of Muslims who will strap on bombs so they can get on a bus and murder unarmed men, women, children and babies on the LIE that as long as they die while committing mass murder they will be rewarded with scores of virgins -it is people like YOU who insist we must PRETEND these people are actually an aberration and anomaly - when in fact the Muslims who support them are a huge percentage of all Muslims and from around the world. They are NOT an aberration -these are the people they pray for in mosques around the world. Which is why the only thing almost as rare as a "Christian extremist" is a Muslim who will denounce Muslim acts of mass murder of non-Muslims instead of trying to explain the mental gymnastics Muslims go through to justify the evil committed in the name of their religion! Any comment about the FACT the Egyptian Pew poll released just last week showed that a full 80% of all Egyptian Muslims believe the non-believers in Egypt should be KILLED as "apostates"? Oh no, too worked up about all that "Christian extremism" going on, right? People like you also have to do mental gymnastics to AVOID facing reality when it comes to the truth about the scope and expanse of the threat from Muslim extremists AND their supporters -while feeling some kind of sick and desperate need to try and smear Christianity with the intended acts of mass murder of a bunch of SATANISTS to satisfy your own sick anti-Christian agenda! All because you want others to believe that "Christian extremism" not only exists, but it is a looming threat to this nation that will soon overshadow the real and global threat of Muslim extremism. How malicious -but actually quite typical of the anti-Christian left.

See any bias in there? Because I assure -anyone with a normal IQ or better sure can. And even have a name for it.

I like to think of Christian extremists as what the name describes: people who really REALLY believe in brotherly love, peace and good will. The people who really take it seriously. Since that's what Christianity is about, anyone who is an extremist must really take those things very very seriously. If liberals mean something else, then they should say what they mean, the idiots.

That's a fantastically good post.

How 'bout when they bomb family-planning clinics or murder doctors?

Would they have to be (what Lil' Dumbya called) suiciders, to be considered real-Extremists??

I'm sure large numbers of Muslims would say that the terrorists aren't real Muslims as well.

Are these people Christians?

There are people who are extremists who also happen to be Christians (of a sort, one supposes).

So?

There are people who have all sorts of religious beliefs who are freakin crazy.

So?

Now if their craziness includes or is inspired by their religion (as in the case of the clinic bombers in the case of Christians) that's threating to the public, one supposes.

But seriously, how many of those are there, really?

Very few I'll wager.

I couldn't find this on Pew.

I did find this but I can't corroborate it.

Pew also revealed that 82% of Egyptian Muslims support stoning human beings to death for having sex outside of marriage and that 77% of Egyptian Muslims support public whippings and cutting people’s hands off for theft. In addition, a terrifying 84% of Egyptian Muslims support the death penalty for anyone who has the good sense to leave the religion of Islam.

Egyptians Hate America and Want Islamic Rule (Zogby, Pew Polling Data)

That's not the same as saying Muslims want to kill non-Muslims. They want to kill ex-Muslims. Only slightly less barbaric, but different nonetheless.

Whatever one might want to say about Christian extremists, they are nowhere near as barbaric as this.

Idiot! The problem is this country has forgotten the FACT that this country was founded on Christian principals by men who were largely Christian.

"On the dogmas of religion, as distinguished from moral principles, all mankind, from the beginning of the world to this day, have been quarreling, fighting, burning and torturing one another, for abstractions unintelligible to themselves and to all others, and absolutely beyond the comprehension of the human mind." - Thomas Jefferson

"They [preachers] dread the advance of science as witches do the approach of daylight and scowl on the fatal harbinger announcing the subversions of the duperies on which they live." - Thomas Jefferson

*

"Whenever we read the obscene stories, the voluptuous debaucheries, the cruel and torturous executions, the unrelenting vindictiveness with which more than half the Bible is filled, it would be more consistent that we call it the word of a demon than the word of God. It is a history of wickedness that has served to corrupt and brutalize mankind." - Thomas Paine

"As to Jesus of Nazareth...I think the system of Morals and his Religion, as he left them to us, the best the World ever saw or is likely to see; but I apprehend it has received various corrupting Changes, and I have, with most of the present Dissenters in England, some doubts as to his divinity." - Benjamin Franklin

Special Mention:

"However, on religious issures there can be little or no compromise. There is no position on which people are so immovable as their religious beliefs. There is no more powerful ally one can claim in a debate than Jesus Christ, or God, or Allah, or whatever one calls this supreme being. But like any powerful weapon, the use of God's name on one's behalf should be used sparingly. The religious factions that are growing throughout our land are not using their religious clout with wisdom. They are trying to force government leaders into following their position 100 percent. If you disagree with these religious groups on a particular moral issue, they complain, they threaten you with a loss of money or votes or both. I'm frankly sick and tired of the political preachers across this country telling me as a citizen that if I want to be a moral person, I must believe in "A," "B," "C," and "D." Just who do they think they are? And from where do they presume to claim the right to dictate their moral beliefs to me? And I am even more angry as a legislator who must endure the threats of every religious group who thinks it has some God-granted right to control my vote on every roll call in the Senate. I am warning them today: I will fight them every step of the way if they try to dictate their moral convictions to all Americans in the name of "conservatism." - Senator Barry Goldwater, from the Congressional Record, September 16, 1981

For those of us who don't really give a shit, anyone who calls himself a 'Christian', is one.

We don't have the time or inclination to keep all of the different off-shoot cults and sects of the worlds religions straight in our heads. If a dude has a cross in one hand and a gun in the other, he's a violent Christian.

Just because I'm glad that most Jesus freaks are great people who're a pleasure to work with and live among doesn't mean it's MY job to determine if this guy is or that group are, real Christians or not.

There are approximately 38,000 Christian denominations in the world.

Ok, all you stoned and sexually perverted liberals! Be sure to keep an eye on those conservatives! There's something fishy about the way they bathe everyday, go the church every Sunday and the way they teach their children right from wrong! I wonder what those conservatives are up to?

LOL - EXCELLENT! You really are a spitfire, aren't you?

That's getting the job done! Love it!
If you're handing-out awards, ya' gotta consider this late-entry!!!!

"These are glorious times, indeed! Turmoil in the Middle East is reaching wonderful, epidemic proportions. The towel-heads are killing each other – instead of us. The pretend governments of dune dwelling dictators are toppling. Instability is increasing. It's only a matter of time before the gefilte fish-eating Christ-killers, who panic if someone drops a nickel down the drain, get involved in the act and start one of their indiscriminate bombing runs. The whole place will soon go up in smoke! God willing!"

Nah, I don't think so.

Yes, some Christians are nutters - like those who believe Obama may be the anti-Christ - but most Christians reject violence. Christians pose no threat relative to the Islamic extremists who want to take us back to the 8th century. They may want to take us back to the 18th century......
...."may" being the operative-word.

nobody cares about Christian extremeism except the k00ks..........maybe......maybe 10% of the country, many on this board by the way..........
Anybody else hears about this and says, "meh".

But they wake up today and see the #1 story on DRUDGE...........Ghadafi executed 400 people yesterday.............

yeah and by that time those Christians had stopped killing people for being witches.

....No doubt a result o' shit-canning the whole Christianity-trip....
