Non stop. What does China have planned? I hope the U.S is surpassing their attempts, and with greater success.

This guys cover story makes Stephen Siegels movie Under Siege where he was a cook, seem realistic. This guy is just a measly, lost dishwasher from Jersey.

Chinese man arrested for taking pictures of US Navy base in Florida, officials say

A Chinese man who took photos of "defense installations" after trespassing onto U.S. Navy property in Florida was sentenced to 60 days in jail -- but he faces the prospect of more time behind bars, federal prosecutors say.

Zhao Qianli, 20, was arrested Sept. 26 and sentenced to two months in jail for trespassing, the Miami Herald reported. The man told authorities he was “lost” and “only a dishwasher from New Jersey.”

Prosecutors, in federal charges filed last week, said Zhao is accused “of photographing defense installations and entering military, naval or Coast Guard property.” He faces up to one year in prison if convicted. Zhao is currently in federal custody on a $250,000 bond.

Witnesses said they observed Zhao walking along the fence of the Joint Interagency Task Force South at Naval Air Station Key West on the afternoon of Sept. 26, according to an FBI criminal complaint viewed by the Miami Herald. He allegedly walked into the base from the beach at Fort Zachary Taylor State Park, which doesn’t have a gate, despite signs stating the naval base was a “restricted area.”

The complaint reportedly stated there were “numerous warnings that noted the fenced facility was a ‘military installation’ and ‘restricted area.’” The Navy said there is security along the fence.

Kind of stupid though. China has high resolution satellite photographs. Why send some dunce with a disposable kodak? :eusa_doh:

U.S. is quite lenient on people taking photographs. There are some countries that will put you in jail for far less -- especially, China.

Actually he was arrested for trespassing and according to the story he seems incoherent. You almost gotta laugh that people could be locked in a 1940's attitude about covert foreign spies lurking around military installations taking pictures. There are no freaking secrets. You can find half a dozen sites that keep track of U.S. construction of military hardware and shipping. The simplest drone could photograph anything you need to see at a restricted instillation.

He's obviously not a registered Democrat as evidenced by his jail term.

He trespassed on a military base, and was a foreign national, from a country noted for its espionage. It's not about merely taking pictures; people used to line the fence at the local base here to get a look at the latest aircraft coming off the assembly line here and being tested. I took pictures all the time for many years growing up here and standing at the fences, mostly of them taking off and flying over. Nobody ever came out and said squat to us about it. They probably would now, though, and I nor interested in finding out if they would, either.

Yep, along with nice big clear professional pics of everything as well. They send the new bombers and fighters out to air shows all over the country, right off the line, while they're still supposed to be 'secret n stuff' as well.
