Barry Rubin was the first to notice that the Muslim Brotherhood has declared war on America (Hat Tip: Michael Totten via Instapundit).

The leader of the Muslim Brotherhood has endorsed (Arabic) (English translation by MEMRI) anti-American Jihad and pretty much every element in the al-Qaida ideology book. Since the Brotherhood is the main opposition force in Egypt and Jordan as well as the most powerful group, both politically and religiously, in the Muslim communities of Europe and North America this is pretty serious stuff.

By the way, no one can argue that he merely represents old, tired policies of the distant past because the supreme guide who said these things was elected just a few months ago. His position reflects current thinking.

The Brotherhood is the group that often dominates Muslim communities in the West and runs mosques. Its cadre control front groups that are often recognized by Western democratic governments and media as authoritative. Government officials in many countries meet with these groups, ask them to be advisers for counter-terrorist strategies and national policies, and even fund them.

The invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan have been with the support of the Muslim community.
Name a Christian or any other religion holding office now in either country. What religion are the individuals that lobbied the Bush administration for both invasions? What is the religion of those elected in both countries? What religion are the troops and police forces trained in Iraq and Afghainstan? Jewish?
How many billions have we given Pakistan? Take a guess what religion they practice. How much $ and military presence do we have in Saudi Arabia and how many foreign banks does our intelligence operate out of in Jordan? Are they also Jewish?
Anyone with half a brain knows that the Saudis, Egyptians and any Muslim leader with the guts to not answer to the mullahs FEAR the Muslim terrorists more than anyone.
A thorough understanding of the region is needed to understand the foreign policy strategy that was implemented by Bush and carried over by Obama almost 100%.
