    Sorry bout that,

    1. Is it in USA interested to look the other way while Chavez takes over a Nation?
    2. I don't think its for the better to allow it.
    3. Come on people lets don't think that being a commie is good, its not, we do have enough interests in thier Nation to stop this.

"CARACAS, Venezuela – Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez on Tuesday asked congress to grant him special powers to enact laws by decree for one year, just before a new legislature takes office with a larger contingent of opposition lawmakers.

The measure would give the president the ability to bypass the National Assembly for the fourth time since he was first elected almost 12 years ago.

Vice President Elias Jaua made the request on Chavez's behalf, saying the president will use the authorization to ensure fast-track approval of laws aimed at helping the nation recover from severe flooding and mudslides that left thousands homeless and in government shelters.

"The measures we have to take are deep. Almost 40 percent of the country was affected" by the heavy rains, Jaua said.

It is expected to win easy approval in the outgoing legislature dominated by Chavez allies.

Chavez's opponents accuse him of using the natural disaster to impose socialist-inspired measures and undermine the power of newly elected opposition lawmakers.

Hundreds of Chavez opponents protested outside the legislature Tuesday, saying Chavez is violating democratic principles and objecting to other planned laws that could impose regulations on the Internet and endanger Globovision, the country's last stridently anti-Chavez television channel.

    5. Lets don't watch as this Nation turns into a killing field.

We've tried interfering in the affairs of Latin American nations before, remember Iran-Contra? Let the banana republics be. Our biggest threat right now by far is North Korea. Plus drug trafficking is a primary tool used by Latin American socialist/fascist types. You really want to hurt Chavez, secure the border and decriminalize drugs.

    Not our problemo.

The peasants of Ven. elect him whenever he runs and will continue to do so. Sooner or later I expect the aristocrats will assassinate the pig and take their country back.

He is their democratically elected leader.

I think the folks down there are stupid and crazy to vote for him, but I voted for Palin, so they probably feel the same way about me.

The only folks getting hurt are the people who voted him in. He is not the stooge of a colonial power, like Castro or Allende. We have no say in the matter even if he were.
I pity the folks down there who have to live with him, but they are responsible for their own country.

The real problem here is the takeover the US government by the Republican leadership.

    They've started two wars.

    They've ruined the economy.

The average number of millionaires in Republican districts is 1.7%, yet all of our tax plan, all of our focus is on helping them "get more".

Hugo Chavez owns an American company, "Citgo". Because of the conservative Supreme Court, he is now able to pour as much money as he wants into US elections. Who is he more likely to support, the party that sent millions of jobs to China or the party that is for the American "Middle Class"?

We all know the Republicans can be "bought". Chavez has lots of money.

    W T F - HUH?

Americans can not even defend their own freedom.

    1- there are over 2,400,000 inmates in US prisons;

2- recently the federal government incinerated - alive - 90 individuals - 22 children in Waco, TX

3- the feds mess around with our junk at all airports,

    4- etc, etc, etc
