Chaos and anarchy coming to NY?

HA HA HA HA!!!!!!!!!! How's that welfare state doing? What a great plan.

I don't know why I'm even bothering because you are a partisan moron, but NY is not a welfare state. We pay more into federal coffers than we take out. Louisiana, however, IS a welfare state - in fact , this is the case with almost ALL of the red states, if I am remembering correctly.

How many residents does New York have? What percentage of the populatin receives welfare?

New York is in ruins.

Good god, get a hold of yourself. New York is not in ruins.

Uh. Do you watch the news?
NY State legislature is a mess.
The Governor has a lot of dirt.
THey are shutting down the government intermitently (sp)
NY is in sad shape.
Ruins? Well, lets just say a step in the direction of ruins.

Um, I LIVE in NYC. The government is shutting down because the asshats can't decide on anything and keep cutting important things like education and senior services. We will get through this. I have been listening to this all day. ALL cities are in trouble due to such severely reduced property taxes, job losses, unemployment payments, and just the bad economy in general. It has nothing to do with a D or an R beside a name.

NY IS a welfare state. I don't care what they return to the fed, they have some of the highest taxes in the country and THAT is what makes them a welfare state. They are overtaxed and running a deficit over 8 billion.

That dribble the libs continually spout is vexing. Much of that so called welfare spending you refer to going to the states is military bases and other fed interests. Until there is a breakdown of not only what each state receives from the fed but ALSO where and why it is sent there your contentions mean nothing.

Mr. Peepers is correct. NY is one of the biggest donor states to the fed, and those donations are then filtered to needy southern states. Sure, we should lower our taxes and balance our budget. I suggest that we stop sending our revenues south.

Have the women (and some of the men) not asked nicely and repeatedly on this board for you guys to put your shirts back ON?:wtf:

Idle curiosity, at what point would you consider them in ruins?

Perhaps when we're no longer the headquarters of American international trade, one of the most important (perhaps the most important) international stock markets, and generally the best place in the world.

I think most cities would work better without their local government. Imagine the business and prosperity that wouuld occur

New York has become a miserable Third World H*ll Hole. The Democrats have decimated that once great state. But hey, people keep voting for Democrats so i guess they get what they deserve. Now the Dems are even pushing for a gigantic Mosque to be built on hallowed 911 ground. I suspect New York will resemble Londonistan in a few years. So yes, chaos and anarchy could very well be coming to New York. It wouldn't surprise me. All Third World H*ll Holes descend into chaos & anarchy eventually. WTG Dems!

If... IF there is a NY government shutdown.... and violence erupts...who's going to be causing the violence?

Certainly not the Tea parties who have been clambering for budget cuts for a few years now.

It will be the usual suspects. The "human rights activists" and "Civil Rights Activists".

huh... imagine that.

That's a totally dishonest assessment of New York's situation. New York Republicans are just as much to blame as the Democrats. The Republicans controlled the State Senate up until 2009 for about 40 years. They also held the governor's office for 12 years up until 2007, so for more than a decade the Republicans controlled the top spot in the state and one legislative chamber. Despite that, taxes continued to rise, spending continued to rise, and entitlements continued to rise.

These things are true.

The federal gubmint isn't the only dispensary of social welfare....The State of New York has one of the greatest contraptions of socialistic redistributionist welfare state do-goodery in the nation.

yeah... we keep paying money that gets re-distributed to 'red states'.

:cuckoo:

NY State and city taxes get redistributed to red states?:cuckoo:
You pay the same Federal taxes as anyone else, capiche? So the difference in tax rates, what makes NY a tax-hell, comes from your own worthless selected officials. That money is spent on your own homegrown worthless welfare leaches and other worthy causes.

I think CA has NY beat hands down for the title.

Then why don't the people of New York vote for politicians to stop this if it's really happening? Personallly, I think it's ridiculous that any state should allow itself to be a piggy bank for it's neighbor. Here's something I found interesting about your claim when I looked for some corresponding data.

Federal Spending Received per Dollar of Taxes Paid

10 Biggest Receivers
1. New Mexico $2.03
2. Mississippi $2.02
3. Alaska $1.84
4. Louisiana $1.78
5. West Virginia $1.76
6. North Dakota $1.68
7. Alabama $1.66
8. South Dakota $1.53
9. Kentucky $1.51
10. Virginia $1.51

10 Biggest Donators
1. New Jersey $0.61
2. Nevada $0.65
3. Connecticut $0.69
4. New Hampshire $0.71
5. Minnesota $0.72
6. Illinois $0.75
7. Delaware $0.77
8. California $0.78
9. New York $0.79
10. Colorado $0.81

As you can see, both California and New York are in the bottom 10, but there are many worse including my current state of MN.

Now you can complain that it's all about politics but I think that's highly unlikely as much as it is compared to states with the most liberal taxation policies, highest population and highest quotient of federal government land. Even these though may be more corollary and not causation.

But as for state income? that never leaves the state. Instate redistribution of wealth is nobody's fault except the residents who need to pull their heads out from 'twixt their nethers and fix the problem. If you don't agree in paying for deadbeats and boondoggles, vote the people who want them out of office. Simple, isn't it?
