UEFA wants to fine Celtic after their fans flew Palestine flags in a match against an Israeli team - so the Scottish team's fans have responded in a terrific way.

More than £90,000 has been raised by Celtic fans in anticipation of the UEFA fine after the flags were flown in a European match last week.

The GoFundMe campaign has raised more than £100,000 so far, with more than 6000 fans donating so far.

UEFA deem the Palestinian flag an "illicit banner".

Wow. Those Scottish fans are not evil, they are just plain ignorant.

Plus I doubt they are devout Christians. Most Christians (not all, for sure) can understand the history of the conflict Arabs have had with the Jews, and they can easily distinguish who are the good guys and who are the bad guys. (To put it in simple terms those Celtics can comprehend.)

The club was founded by priests and their support is rooted in the catholic , and Irish catholic, community. They have their finger on what an oppressed community looks like more than most clubs in my opinion.

I actually think that Celtic, and their proddy rivals Rangers, are a stain on Scottish cultural life but on this subject they are to be applauded.
