CBS/NYT has bad news for Trump, as race is tied post-convention

Even if all the made-up scandals about Hillary were to be true........she is well-qualified, intelligent, eloquent and speaks to the issues the American people are interested in and will take the country forward. All Trump can do is yell insults, he doesn't know shit from shinola and is a threat to the country. Only the dim-witted think that Trump is qualified to be President. We have a lot of ignorant people in this country.

There is no equivalence between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton — as even responsible Republicans should be able to recognize.

Ms. Clinton is a knowledgeable politician who has been vetted many times over. She understands and respects the U.S. Constitution. She knows policy. She can cite accomplishments in the public interest, such as pressing through an important children’s health insurance program during her husband’s administration. As a senator, she was respected by colleagues on both sides of the aisle. She completed four years as secretary of state to generally positive reviews. She began her presidential campaign by rolling out a series of serious policy papers.

None of this means you have to like Ms. Clinton or believe she would be a good president. You may disagree with her views; we have done so often enough and will do so again when we think she is wrong. You may believe she was foolish to push for the Libya intervention, arrogant to keep her emails out of the official State Department server, greedy to take large speaking fees as a private citizen. But measured against other major-party candidates of recent times, Ms. Clinton is well within established bounds of competence, knowledge, commitment and integrity. She is not a dumpster candidate.

Mr. Trump, by contrast, has waged a campaign based on bigotry, ignorance and resentment. He has no experience as a public servant, and his private record of bankruptcies and exploitation should be disqualifying. He regularly circulates falsehoods. He has no discernible interest in or knowledge of policy. Just in recent days, Mr. Trump tweeted out an anti-Semitic image circulating on neo-Nazi websites and attacked the media for reporting as much. He called one sitting senator a loser and threatened another while proving that he lacks even a passing familiarity with the Constitution. He praised one of the most vile dictators of the 20th century.

Both are unpopular. Only one is a threat.

This is Trumps high water mark......at best he will be tied with Hillary

Even worse for Trump is he did not make significant strides in swing states

Donald Trump failed to take the lead against Hillary Clinton in a poll (CBS/NYT) conducted July 22-24, after the Republican convention was over.

Could you say that in Spanish?

Si, si, señor. El Trumpo no es bueno....por favor vote por Hillary.

Well looky there....

Donald Trump bounces into the lead
(CNN)The bounce is back.

Donald Trump comes out of his convention ahead of Hillary Clinton in the race for the White House, topping her 44% to 39% in a four-way matchup including Gary Johnson (9%) and Jill Stein (3%) and by three points in a two-way head-to-head, 48% to 45%. That latter finding represents a 6-point convention bounce for Trump, which are traditionally measured in two-way matchups.

Hey cottage cheese thighs, I thought you said polls didn't matter at this point?

This thread relates to the CBS poll, where he got no bump, so be less stupid, please.
Translation: I only want to discuss polls where Hillary is winning.

Sorry dude, but part of debate is bringing salient facts to the discussion. In this case, others have brought forth evidence that the CBS poll is AFU.

You might want to rethink the boost thing with old noodle head stepping down in disgrace and bernie supporters going on an email induced rampage....just sayin.

No one ever said the Democratic Party didn't have an idiot fringe, and any supporter of Sen. Sanders who doesn't vote for HRC is part of that extreme element. I listened to a Bernie supporter being interviewed yesterday, and he was as foolish as those who support Trump. The good thing about the D Party, as opposed to the R's, our fringe is a very small minority of unsophisticated and concrete thinkers, and that set is the majority in the Party of David Duke and The Donald.

Apparently you're all idiots considering you still support dems in light of the email release.

Trump's campaign has even started yet. Mrs. Tuzla is already spending hand over fist. Of course she has all of the establishment and corporate America behind her so she has lots and lots of other people's money to spend.

I am not sure why listening to a screeching barn owl is going to increase her popularity. She is a given, she is known, there is nothing to discover about Mrs. Tuzla.

What she will run on is how much free crap she can promise.

Why are you so bitter? HRC is doing nothing more than working within the rules set by the five conservative members of the Supreme Court who determined money in elections was an example of free speech. The R's and conservatives applauded this ruling, and now piss and moan because the power elite has (rightly) rejected Trump and put their coin on HRC.

Clinton does not promise "free crap", a comment which is nothing more than a partisan echo, thoughtless and not reality based. HRC's stump speech is about a fair deal for those who have been left behind in the Obama recovery, and still face nearly negative growth and growing debt while the elite are rolling in dough.

Yeah, right......like Trumpf hasn't already set himself up as the leader of "the war on women"!

Fact checking Trump's history of insulting women
1) Straw man argument. This was about VOR's misogyny, I'm not claiming others aren't misogynists.

2) Using the excuse "It's okay if Liberals are misogynistic because Conservatives are also misogynistic" isn't the direction we should be going.

And please recall, HRC is trying to extend a party’s occupation of the Oval to a 3rd term. The only time this has happened in recent memory is Bush I extending Reagan’s term in 1988 (almost 30 years go)

Why would you say that me pointing out the truth about Mrs. Tuzla makes me bitter? I think the American people are smart enough to rise up and vote the Clinton's out of our lives forever. That does not change the FACT that Mrs. Tuzla is a bought and paid for establishment shill.

Bwahahaha, says the idiot who still supports Trump when many influential Republicans (i.e. H W Bush, George W. Bush, Mitt Romney, Lindsey Graham, Mich Gov Rick Snyder, Ohio Gov John Kasich, Mass Gov. Charles Baker, Az Sen Jeff Flake, Ill Sen. Mark Kirk, NV. Sen. Dean Heller, NY Rep Mark Hanna, SC Mark Sanford, etc, etc,) have vowed to not vote for Trump.

No one ever said politics wasn't a game with few rules, or that partisan peccadilloes weren't as common as peas in a pod with pols and those in their inner circle. I fear that the next few months will not be about issues and policy, but about more and more mud being thrown by more and more partisans and echoed by those too lazy to listen between the lines of the two nominees.

IMO Trumps loud call for "law and order" will strike fear in the hearts of Libertarians and those Independents leaning toward Libertarianism, RINO's (now called establishment Republicans) and Democrats. In other words those who heard in Trump's acceptance speech the wranglings of a fascist will think long and hard this voting season; the biddable, single issue and ignorant voters will cast their vote based solely on emotion, hate and fear rhetoric works as we saw last week at the R convention.
