This is not a Babylon Bee story. This was introduced as updated advice for all vehicle owners. Direct quote from Toronto Police Constable Marco Ricciardi - "To prevent the possibility of being attacked in your home, leave your fobs at the front door. Cause they're breaking into your home to steal your car. They don't want anything else. A lot of them that they're arresting have guns on them and they're not toy guns, they're real guns. They're loaded."

Talk about capitulating to the criminals. This isn't one problem neighborhood. This was advice from the Toronto Police to all vehicle owners. Have fun up there, Toronto. Down here we just do things like let everyone know an entire city is being protected by only 20 cops between 3AM - 7AM (Pittsburgh).

Just one correction to that “X”, only certain types of guns are illegal in Canada. People can still own guns, just that certain AR style rifles, sawed off shotguns are banned except for police.

Other than that, yeah, pretty messed up when the officials are telling you to just hand over your car to a thief.

So they decided not to crack down on crime, treat criminals, dopeheads and crazy people like what they are, have harsher punishments, and foster a decent society with morals, values and standards.

But instead told people "just make it easier for criminals to steal your car so you don't get hurt"?

Can't say it's much different here in America. We don't take steps to stop crime at its source, we just find ways to live with crime.

Depends on if you live in a blue shithole state, or not.

It would be easier to just leave you key fobs in your unlocked car.
