Can Republitards name the last GOP prez that balanced a budget?

I really don't give a rat's ass who was the last president to balance the budget. Or who controlled congress at the time.

What I do care about is that the next congress and the next President get their collective heads out of their asses and fix the economy which would include doing away with the deficit spending. And I don't even care what party they may belong to.

Democrat, Republican, Independent, Moon Glow Party.....It just doesn't matter.

Oh, hush with the intelligence, Ollie. Charlie doesn't want a thoughtful response. He wants people to play partisan politics. I personally find it entertaining as hell that both 'sides' blame the other and both totally deny their own party's complicity in the mess.

Seriously, I want the deluded monkeys to name the last GOP prez that either balanced a budget or presided over a balanced budget without screwing it up. While they're at it, I'd like for them to name one time where a budget was balanced and or a deficit was significantly reduced solely by spending cuts and extremely low taxes. Talk is cheap, put or shut up, you Republitards have been repeating the same old BS, well if it will work show that it did.

Can Democraps name the last Democrap President that balanced the budget?

Wait for it.... wait for it....

Ummm.......is it 2011 or is it just me? And is this a POLITICS forum..........or not?

Internet k00ks talking about George Bush...................like anybody cares.

But go take a gandor over to The DUDGE REPORT tonight!!!:D:D:up:

Thanks. Best post of the day.

As I understand it, the only reason Clinton had a budget surplus, aside from the GOP Congress that wouldn't let him spend more money, was that he borrowed money from the Social Security lockbox. Not sure if that was by choice or by law that he had to. Hey, I give a lot of credit to Clinton, he did a good job IMHO.

As Avatar says, it's Congress responsibility to legislate taxes and spending. So when was the last time a democrat controlled Congress had a balanced budget?

Which leads to a question I posed earlier? WHY didn't the last Congress front a budget? Precisely because it was an election year...and they didn't to lessen the damage of thier defeat.

And I still say they shirked their duties...but what else is new?

There is no such thing as the party you mentioned.

The democratic partys president Clinton did give us a budget surplus though.

The rightwing propaganda machine has spent many an hour manufacturing an argument that claims Clinton didn't really have a balanced budget.

It's the same canard they use when they claim the 'real' unemployment number under Obama is 17%, not 9%.

The problem is, when you apply those new sets of rules or measures to everyone else's numbers (not just Clinton's or Obama's)

whether it's unemployment, or the budget surplus/deficit,

every other president's numbers get worse,

so in the case of Clinton's budgets, he STILL comes out looking the best.

You have to learn to see through the tricks of the propaganda trade.

*I* stopped reading there...

Clinton balanced the last budget.

But Republicans controlled Congress, so they get credit as well.

Generally, at the state level, Republicans have been better stewards of fiscal affairs than Democrats.

Can you name the last Democratic president to do so? My guess is that you will get it wrong, almost everyone does it. I will tell you one thing that might help you get the right answer though. The last Republican president that had a balanced budget while he was in office was the last president to have one.

That budget was never balanced in actual reality...It was projected to come into balance in 2002, in 1998.

All any of them, along with their willing useful idiot bootlickers in the lamestream media, get credit for pulling is off a great big hoax.
