The above is my favorite of the 4. The composition is excellent. It's too bad that the chair/table/bench? leg is there though. It's a bit distracting.

The first 2 are OOF. The second of which is named 'focused', which is ironic. :D
Perhaps you meant them to be that way? The third has a focal point, but it's just above the cat's head.

The last is an interesting 'pose'. The background is just too distracting for me.

Yeah, the silly thing kept hiding under stuff. The legs and grill covers and grill-wheels and whatever else that's all in the pictures are distracting to me as well. If I wasn't lazy I'd photochop them out. I debated on the last shot whether or not to leave the white fence posts over it's back, or to just make it blue. I guess I liked the fence, but can see it being too distracting as well.

I actually blurred around the head for a couple of them because I wanted the face to pop out more. I will admit that the first black and white one I was trying to salvage an over-exposed, OOF shot. So much for trying to pass it off as artsy

And for the third one, the focal point is actually dead center of the cat, if you look, but that knuckling of the grill cover ends up taking the attention of the shot north of the head. Not a whole lot I can do about that, but I feel the same way you do.

Thanks for the constructives :) I need all the help I can get with only this crappy little S230.

Nah. Callie was one of the farm cats that was at this cottage my gf and I rented for a night. The damn thing was shedding, so it was all about rubbing all over us. When it wasn't doing that though, it was kind of cute.

I really wish we still had our kitty, instead of the force of destruction we have now. That dumb dog chewed a huge hole in a screen yesterday!

Cute kitty, and I like the looks of that cottage. My husband and I are looking for a place to get away for a weekend in June. How far a drive do you think that would be from Cincinnati?

Around 8.5 hours, so claims mapquest. It all depends on how fast you drive, and how many stops you make.

It looks like it'd be a beautiful drive, however. And if you had the time, it'd definitely be worth making the trip for.

Thanks, Joz! We were actually thinking about taking the kids camping there this summer!
We weren't campers, but we took the kids there when they were smaller. I got claustraphobia in one of the caves and had to get out. But other than that, it's a beautiful place & a great time!

One more, this time displaying the cat's excellent taste.
