Californians complaining that American flag on police cars is too "aggressive".

No this is right wing fake ass news
Yes obviously, which is why I simply as for them to explain the OP. What puzzles me is why mods let it stay in politics
The mods are right wingers too as far as I can tell. And I’ve been here for a long time.
I have no problems with wingnuts on either side but no matter what side you’re on honest debate and honest presentation of information should be paramount. Nobody should stand for perpetuating lies

Apparently the logic here is that one person describing the design as "aggressive", somehow magically transmogrifies into "Californians", a state of 39½ million people. One guy equals 39½ million. This edges out Grover Cleveland, who was only two people.
Exactly, and when questioned about it the OP runs for the hills. Pathetic. Mods... Move this crap thread to the crap section please and label the OPs account as certified idiot. Thanks
im having a convo now with someone who says to have a problem with it.

idiocy is real.

"The council agreed in February to repaint its all-white squad cars in black and white with the image of Old Glory running through the word “police” on the doors.

But the graphic element of the paint job didn't scream “Laguna Beach” to everyone. Local designer Chris Prelitz was dining with his wife at the Montage hotel when he spotted several parents and small children scattering."

Some suspect the critics have a different motive.

"Attorney Jennifer Welsh Zeiter said at the last council meeting that she found the police cars “exceptional” and questioned the loyalty of anyone who objected to the American flag display.

They are so filled with hatred toward this ... office of the president of the United States and the current occupant of that office,” she said, “that they cannot see through their current biases to realize that a police vehicle with the American flag is the ultimate American expression."

Yeah there's a big difference than having a flag on a police car then painting the police car as a flag.

In my opinion it's a bit much.
so slade... heres your person who says "too much"

and no there isnt. stop being so sensitively judgemental.
You don't have a problem paying at least twice to three times the amount to have a police car painted as a flag?

Oh, so now it's the cost. Sure, that must be what they were REALLY complaining about all along. They don't want their city to go bankrupt paying for paint jobs on police cars. You know how fiscally conservative some people can be, especially libtards.

The story specifically describes multiple individuals in that city complaining to the police and city council. It also clearly describes a crowd of children adults and "scattering".

Here are two of the people named that we know of who complained.

“We have such an amazing community of artists here, and I thought the aesthetic didn’t really represent our community,” Woodburn said. “It feels very aggressive.”

"Local designer Chris Prelitz was dining with his wife at the Montage hotel when he spotted several parents and small children scattering. “There was like a little panic going on, and I was like, ‘What’s happening?’ ” Prelitz said."

Here is what was driving by and causing the mass panic among the terrorized residents of Laguna, California.

It was a police car patrolling an American city WITH AN AMERICAN FLAG PAINTED ON THE DOOR! How "aggressive"! Run for your lives! Do not wait. Run immediately to your safe space.

Luckily, someone happened to catch a picture of the scattering crowd.

th

It's OK though, the police are thinking of possibly caving in to the pressure.

"He said two weeks ago that the council would reconsider the logo “out of an abundance of caution to address questions that have been raised about the process.”

Stop lying. The car isn't painted as a flag. The word Police on the side of the car is in red, white, and blue. Big whoop. Anyway, what's wrong if the entire car was the American flag? This IS America.

Not sure why you didn't respond to post 15 Slade3200 ?
You wanted a quote, and I gave you one.
I'm sure that she in her clique of artist friends isn't the only one who feels that way.

As for the political angle there is this:

But attorney Jennifer Welsh Zeiter called the design “exceptional,” suggesting any objection to it was likely connected to ill will toward President Trump.

“They are so filled with hatred toward this … office of the president of the United States and the current occupant of that office, that they cannot see through their current biases to realize that a police vehicle with the American flag is the ultimate American expression,” Zeiter said.

I'm sure that's why the mods ignored your request, Slade

Why. Slade?

The new patriotic theme — depicted on Ford Explorers as they were rolled out during a March 19 council meeting — was derided by local artist Carrie Woodburn, who said she was taken aback by the “boldness of the design.”

She said it’s out of place in the tony, tourist-laden beach town of 23,000 people roughly 55 miles south of Los Angeles.

“We have such an amazing community of artists here, and I thought the aesthetic didn’t really represent our community,” Woodburn said. “It feels very aggressive.

Apologies, I didn’t s see this post till now. I appreciate you taking the time post post a quote and address my question.

I guess my response would be, how does this quote translate to what the OP said about it being a terrifying vehicle sending women and children running for the hills?

I did a Google search and did find sites that did post that children ran (not to the hills), but not in the LATimes article as he used as his source.

This is all happening just up the road from me...The word is that some unAmerican filthy pieces of shits in town have bitched about the ‘iCE’ at the end of the word ‘Police’ being too bold and standing out. UnBeFuckinLievable...I’ll attend Tuesday’s City Council meeting to help laugh the twisted LefTarded fucks out of the building.

People in Laguna Beach, California are complaining the American flag on its cop cars is 'very aggressive'

"Unfortunately this has devolved to a debate about what the flag means," Laguna Beach Council member Steve Dicterow told "Fox & Friends" Monday. "There are people in Laguna Beach...saying that the flag is hostile, it's intimidating, it's threatening, and that it's a symbol of racism."

"Councilman Peter Blake told "Fox & Friends First" the opponents are left-wing extremists, "local hippies leftover from...1970," and labeled it a "California issue."

"The city council is set to vote Tuesday on whether to keep the logo or choose an alternative."

Laguna Beach council member disagrees with complaints about putting American flag on police cars

First of all it is not a paint job, it is vinyl wrap, But what kind of POS, paranoid, criminal would be offended by the stars and stripes. IMO put the Confederate flag on there.

I do not live in a border state--anything but. I do not even live in a high-immigrant population area. But in my years of teaching, I have had two Hispanic students volunteer to me that they prefer the Mexican Nat'l Anthem over the Star Spangled Banner.

Let's just say I kept my comments to myself.

PS I do not hold this against my students in any capacity. They are children. They are simply parroting what they hear at home. However, it is very telling at how well their parents are "assimilating", isn't it???

This is what the Democrats want for us, btw.

How many are complaining? There are several million people living here in California....what percentage would you say are complaining?

We don't know, how many of the population in California now are illegals and felons 58% ?

.
No that number is a lie. Try again you typical republican liar.

Are you doing better since obama left office? Bullshit. You’re the same loser you were in 2015

If it is a lie post for us the correct percentage..

I double dog dare ya...

.

LMFAO 33% of the black population are felons ?

No wonder why they vote for Democrats and hate cops, they can't keep out of trouble

People with felony convictions more broadly account for 8 percent of the overall population and 33 percent of the African-American male population. The study includes the first estimates of the felony conviction population and maps their distribution in the states, documenting the dramatic growth since 1980.Oct 1, 2017

Because cops and the court system treats blacks like second class citizens.

Because they can’t afford good lawyers

What’s their problem?
they have a problem with the flag colors on the police cars. you said no one really does and called BS on the idea and here i am getting it from some dorkwad who proclaims to have an issue. we went from not proper to the extra cost involved so the reasons for the anger change.

i also daresay it doesn't matter what it was, some people are just terminal assholes when it comes to things like this. the problem is we pay far too much attention to the few idiots out there so we can all point and go LOOK - I FOUND AN IDIOT in the same manner as they scream LOOK I FOUND A SOCIAL PROBLEM!!!

sometimes we just need to treat them as kids jumping into the pool for the 18th time in a row screaming LOOK MOMMY and just say "that's nice, honey" and move on. we really give far too much attention to the stupid encouraging more of said stupidity.

ie - when we go nuts over shit like this, it validates their "efforts" and they'll simply do it again for cheap attention. ignore the fools they'll go away.
