California...how is that bullet train going for you? And you want control of healthcare?

Thankfully Gov, Rick Scott turned it down for the state of Florida as he predicted this is exactly what would happen

I heard the cost is up over $77 billion the other day, and voters had been told the total cost would be $33 billion. And they still are behind by years. Who knows how that figure will grow by completion.

Only liberal mental illness would think it's a good idea to spend countless billions of dollars on a rail line competing with one of the most heavily traveled, and cheapest, air routes in the world: Bay Area to LA. Between the 3 Bay Area major airports and at least 5 in the LA area, there are literally flights every 2-3 minutes. For only about $70-80 each way. Why would someone spend a lot more money (which the train will have to do to cover its gargantuan overhead costs) to get between the two metro areas in 3 hours when you can get there throughout the day in 1 hour for a very cheap price? Long-distance passenger trains will never make a profit in America; it's a geographical fact that our distances are too huge and our average population density is too low for that to happen. That's why the airline industry has such a gigantic hegemony on passenger travel, it's the most practical under those geographical conditions we have.
