Yeah but the thing is when they released all those offenders, crime has skyrocketed across the state. Bands of thieves literally roam around on drugs and smile with squared shoulders knowing their chances of facing consequences are near zero. The lawless atmosphere of the neighborhoods in CA is escalating unchecked. Hiring more cops costs tons of money and even while they've been doing that, the crime is outpacing the cops like 10-1. So, weighing the costs is a comprehensive thing.

I think it's a socialist coup in a way. If the richer won't share with the poor, then remove any consequences for the poor stealing blatantly from those who work hard to get where they are. CA is literally rewarding sloth and addiction, avarice and amorality with cash and goodies. I think that's really what is going on there.

Unless you're super super rich and can afford to live in a gated community with 24/7 security. Then, you know, the beggars and thieves are still at bay. But the middle class grunts can go suck it. They're wide-open in that state.

Those billions(?) are by contract law protected, and cannot be undone for the retires. I know, I'm one of them. Arnold was the Governor when I our last contract was signed, not Brown. That last contract gave me a 5% raise each year, for four years in a row.
