California Gov ok's Assisted Suicide

Marry assisted suicide to organ donation and hospice centers will be raking in the cash so fast it will put planned parenthood to shame as pikers.

Save of course that you have no idea what you're talking about, have never read the law in question, and are willfully unaware of any of the relevant criteria necessary to use this law.

Which begs the question....why are you babbling about something you know nothing about? You've never even read the law.

This will mean that physicians will be required to breach their Hippocratic Oath.

They're not administering anything. They're allowing a patient to administer it themselves. Nor does it require any doctor participate.
If that is true, then we don't need this law. Suicidal people know how to commit suicide, and don't need a doctor's help to do it.

However, now that suicide is legal, the state will no longer be in a position to stop it. You have opened a Pandora's Box.

You don't fool me or anyone else with half a brain. Assisted suicide leads to euthanasia leads to involuntary euthanasia which leads to killing on a massive scale of all who are deemed unnecessary.

Ask one of the patients if they really administered it themselves.
Which patient? The law was just passed earlier today. And it has a minimum 15 day cool down period. Meaning that the soonest anyone could possibly commit suicide using this law would be in more than 2 weeks.

Remember, you don't actually have the slightest clue what you're talking about.

To progressive the only good Christian is a dead one... Hope and change for them.

You fuckwad, I know more on this topic than you do.

This is how the Holocaust began, fuckwad.

That's the way it works everywhere else.

The Germans started by putting the mentally incompetent, autistic, mentally ill in trucks, with the rear chamber flooded with carbon monoxide. A few rounds around the block and they died. If you think this can't happen here, it's because you are not paying attention.

But it was for their own good!

The only thing really needed to get this going is disbelief in God. In non-Christian societies, like pre-Christian Rome or Modern Japan, there is no stigma in committing suicide, and sometimes it is considered the honorable thing to do.

It won't be long before families will be pressuring sick relatives to commit suicide.

Most suicide attempts are unsuccessful. About 3% succeed. And anyone who helps is subject to criminal or civil penalties. Worse, it might be very painful. This law allows for effective methods, no civil or criminal penalties for anyone there, and something painless.

However, now that suicide is legal, the state will no longer be in a position to stop it. You have opened a Pandora's Box.

Except that they are. As the law has rigid rules surrounding it. And outside those rules suicide is still quite illegal. Again, you're condemning the hypothetical law of your imagination that doesn't actually exist.

You've obviously never even acquainted yourself with the actual law.

You don't fool me or anyone else with half a brain. Assisted suicide leads to euthanasia leads to involuntary euthanasia which leads to killing on a massive scale of all who are deemed unnecessary.

Its been legal in Oregon for 17 years. Where is all the involuntary euthanasia you speak of? The killing on a massive scale of anyone deemed unnecessary.

If its inevitable.....then why hasn't it actually happened?

Says you, offering us your Christian death fantasies.

Do you notice the pristine lack of any progressive in your narrative. Just you...citing yourself?

Oh mom is old. She's spending our inheritance. We need a doctor to say she wants to die. It's not like she can prove us wrong.

So where are death chambers filled with carbon monoxide, the mentally ill and autistic being killed in droves, and the mass killings in Oregon where this has been legal for 17 years.

That's longer than all the time the Nazi's ruled. Surely its enough time for at least a few death camps, mass graves and other hysteric batshit you've imagined to happen in Oregon.

Show us. Don't tell us.

Oh mom is old. She's spending our inheritance. We need a doctor to say she wants to die. It's not like she can prove us wrong.

She has to ask the doctor herself. Twice, with a minimum of 15 days in between each instance And submit in writing that she wants to die. And be terminally ill. And suffering. And have less than 6 months to live. And be of sound mind. And administer the medication herself.

Remember, you don't have the slightest clue what you're talking about.

One state won't be foolish enough to misuse their power. It will destroy the spread to other states.

I know much more than you do. And I can see it clearly. I don't have anyone I want to kill off.

Then why does Japan have the largest elderly population by proportion of any nation...if suicide is so common and socially acceptable among the elderly?

Its been legal in Oregon for 17 years. If it is always abused in every state that has it...

.....then why hasn't it been?

omg.

I think I will just sit and watch.

What you're seeing is an expression of their fears. Not a reflection of reality.

Often conservatives equate fear with evidence. So its understandable that they can't tell the difference.
