The point is....why are people who are leaving Cain because of infidelity going to Newt who has a worse record?

Cain supporters don't believe the allegations, the ones that switched to Newt did so because they understand that, even though the Cain allegations are untrue to them, the media has successfully helped cain destroy his own campaign.

Cain's support was already dropping because he so significantly lacked foreign policy expertise, and his statements weren't always rational or coherent; viz: his statements on abortion.

Regardless of Newt's marital infidelities, nothing of the sort has emerged about him; there were and are no bimbo eruptions as with Cain. And some of the charges against Newt were refuted by his daughter who of course is the daughter of the previous "betrayed" wife, so people on the right largely see his dalliances as old almost ancient history.

Taken into account in all this by Conservatives/Republicans, is their understanding that no improper moment lived by a Republican will go uncommented on or unexploited by the Left wing destruction machine.

Newt is understandably the front runner, because his ideas are the most clearly stated.
