Crying for help while standing in front of pallets of aid nobody was moving out to the countryside...they expect us to come in and do it for them while they whine and call us "racists"....fuck it, fuck them.

Like that was enough for more than 3 million Americans?

In a period of almost 2 weeks, they had distributed one million meals to more than 3 million people.

Why were the 3 million Americans not prepared? Why do they not have water and food stored for disasters?

I think there is some merit in the op. The islands natural resource, tourism, is being squandered.

Bulldoze a ring around the island up to one or two miles in and let this island and its people take advantage of what is there waiting to be tapped into.
Lots of Americans love to part ways with large sums of money to bury their feet in the sand while sipping on some absurd umbrella drink as they gaze at palm trees. Maybe throw in a casino or two.

Rebuild the hovels and cross our fingers that we don't have to do this again next year.

The Puerto Ricans refused to drive the trucks to distribute the aid. The drivers are standing around waiting for handouts.

So you know this how? I sat here this morning watching a news clip of them working in a warehouse loading trucks with local drivers waiting to deliver.

So what do you tell someone who does not live in a flood zone, many in Texas and Florida that were ravaged with a flood? I don't live a flood zone but know anything can happen and had 30" of rain dumped on me a few years back, therefore flooding myself and everyone around me. I had flood insurance but most didn't and had to rely on FEMA and sba loans.

Their biggest problem is roads & bridges that are washed away, partially destroyed or buried under mud slides.

Everyone wants to point fingers to win public perception battles while government workers & volunteers do the real work.

Stop insuring high risk areas and have them resettle in another area.. I don't have flood insurance..I knew that I didn't want bottom land or land along a waterway due to flooding..So I built on land about 1000 feet above sea level and when it floods, I watch the valley sweep pastures, animals, fences and houses away....Preplanning helps, logic helps more...
