In your hour of darkness a beacon shines across America . From seat to shining sea the Brooklyn public library sets Americans free from the tyrrany of nazi book bans.

A teenager in Florida or other occupied states now has access to important works of literature that they are denied by their imbecilic right wing rulers.

As a socialist my heart bursts with pride . America may be under threat but there are still Americans who believe in America. The Brooklyn public library is a national treasure.

Complete and total fake news. No books are “banned” anywhere. Just because some school board drops a book from their curriculum or their school library doesn’t equate to being “banned”.

By that same reasoning you should be saying that liberal school boards were “banning” traditional books in favor of more modern CRT shit. Neither is a “ban”, it’s simply what they are using to teach kids at schools.

Well said Tommy.

Facts and the truth are enemies of the neo-fascist authoritarian right.

Another book listed in the link, to kill a mockingbird, gets banned over it using the word ni&&er.
Tommy the hack isnt very bright

I couldn't open but found another way in case others have the problem.

Also saw this: interesting-
Teacher ended up resigning. That sucks.

A Brooklyn Public Library initiative to combat state book bans has landed an Oklahoma teacher in trouble, after a parent there complained her promotion of the resource was itself a violation of state law.

Summer Boismier, a high school English teacher in Norman, Okla., told Gothamist she was placed on leave after providing her students with information about Books UnBanned, a program that allows anyone between the ages of 13 to 21 to access the Brooklyn Public Library’s digital collection at no charge.

I saw that story. The cancer runs deep in backward states. Free expression and exposure to ideas is anathema to right wing loons.

There's no justification for banning books; it's the epitome of rightwing neo-fascism.
The justification can be seen in it being the god's will. Look closer at the reasons stated for banning most of them.

Racism, Religious extremism, Fascism are all consistent with the extreme right's goals.

America's authorities still fear bringing charges against Trump for treason and that's the reason why the FBI/DOJ are working methodically to reduce Trump's popularity with the people to a manageable level.

The FBI understands that this cause could be the last chance to stop him and so they 'must' succeed.

Besides the banning of books, maybe it's about time to make a list of rights and freedoms that Americans have squandered away in the name of Trump's ideals. I'll get around to listing them and then start a discussion for the purpose.

A lot of our fellow posters seem to be gung ho for the bans. They like not to know. Strange for people who claim to love their freedom.

It never fails. When Americans push back against federal agencies like the Dept. Ed., the left gets concerned that there is too much democracy going on out there and we should be content with a government ruled by decree.
