The Denver Broncos and New York Giants are not customary rivals or traditional competitors. However, they share interesting contours in NFL fanfare storytelling.

Both teams have boasted Hall of Fame calibre legends.

Broncos legends: Tony Dorsett, John Elway
Giants legends: Phil Simms, Eli Manning

Peyton Manning and Eli Manning QBd the Broncos and Giants, respectively, and even faced each other.

The Giants were the only team to defeat the dominating New England Patriots (Tom Brady) twice in the Super Bowl (XLII, XLVI), both times led by QB Eli Manning.

The Broncos lost 4 Super Bowls before QB John Elway won back-to-back titles before retiring.

Yes, these two teams are storied in some respect or another, and given their interesting QB feats, they sort of serve as (albeit non-traditional) 'Americana fanfare rivals.'

BRONCO: We had John Elway!
GIANT: Our Eli Manning defeated Tom Brady in 2 Super Bowls!
BRONCO: Eli's brother Peyton was QB of our team.
GIANT: New York is the capitol of the world...
BRONCO: Colorado is a scenic U.S. state.
GIANT: Our cheerleaders are more attractive.
BRONCO: That is a biased statement...
GIANT: Captain America would associate more with the Giants!
BRONCO: Perhaps, but the X-Men would associate more with the Broncos!
GIANT: We get more national TV coverage.
BRONCO: Denver is a city content with its satisfying modesty.
GIANT: We'll win more Super Bowls in franchise history.

A few other interesting facts with this.

Bill Belichick was some kind of assistant on the Broncos staff in 1978 under their defensive coordinator Joe Collier, where Belichick learned the concepts of the 3-4 defense. The next year Belichick was hired by the Giants DC Bill Parcells as LB coach where Belichick brought the Collier philosophy.

Bill Parcells was a season ticket holder for the Broncos the year before he was hired a DC for the Giants.

Also, on September 10th, 2011 the Broncos and Giants played on Monday night football. The Giants team returned to NY and actually parked right next to one of the planes that crashed into the WTC on September 11th.

GIANT: Our cheerleaders are more attractive.
The NY Football Giants do not have cheerleaders

Broncos legends: Tony Dorsett, John Elway
Dorsett is a Cowboy legend
