Not entirely sure May has a choice. It's dawning on her that she will not be able to both keep the UK's borders closed and stay in the single market. So the only way to save face is trying to get some type of deal with the US. She is really stuck between a rock and a hard place. She was put in place to do the Brexit and faces an impossible challenge.

These "lawmakers" are about as powerful as Democrats. Who cares what they think?

This reply just goes to show, that having done absolutely no research doesn't prevent some people from putting their 2 cents in. For one thing the British Parliament is not as polarised as the American Congress. Their is no such thing as making decisions solely along party line. And May has not nearly the power as PM as an American president does. So yes they have considerable power.

You need to inform yourself about the fortunes of the Labour Party. they've been out of power for years and have been sidelined by the conservatives and Liberal-Democrats as well. Milliband never amounted to much and Corbyn is a complete disaster.

I'm saying it is irrelevant, conservatives and liberal-democrats and labour do not vote solely along party lines. Guess what in a working democracy the people's opinion ultimately decides the actions of those they elect.

To hear British politicos whining about some one being a foreigners lapdog is funny. Most of these people support subservience to Brussels.

These people aren't worried about G Britain or Europe, they're worried about their positions as elites. In their eyes G Britain and Europe are doomed without them at the helm.
