There were signs Bradley Prebble’s health was failing within minutes of his arrival at a Scarborough police station. The 48-year-old was unsteady on his feet. He told booking officers he was experiencing numbness and had pain in his eye, hand and foot. During a pat down, he’d moaned in agony when a cop touched his swollen right ankle.
But the father and TTC employee wasn’t offered medical attention while being booked into custody for assault, and he didn’t request it. Instead, surveillance video inside 43 Division captured him slowly wobble to his holding cell before dinnertime on Oct. 13, 2021.

Prebble might be alive today if police followed their policy of checking on inmates every half-hour, his mother said.
