The President is standing firm and the GOP has nowhere to go but toward his position. First, Boehner gave in on the debt ceiling and now on taxing the rich. Obama holds all the cards this time and a real, substantive agreement will be reached.

Now, it's time for the President to make a good-will offer in return. He HAS to give the Speaker some wiggle room.
