Judge won t dismiss discrimination lawsuit against BMW s South Carolina plant - Post and Courier
Well...BMW opened a massive plant in South Carolina. It's been there 20 years and helped spark massive growth the thriving Greenville/Spartanburg corridor between Atlanta and Charlotte.
Non union too!
Part of that non union environment...means employers can require background checks for applicants. BMW basically said....they don't want criminals working in their business.
And minorities sued. They say it disproportionately hurts blacks...because they get arrested so much more.
So....if Greenville Police Department can be racist by running background checks...why can't BMW? Or...does only the government have the right to keep criminals out of their workplace?
