although the presumed reason is the newsworthy aspect of this story, it doesn't matter at all. the guy was a scumbag to punch a lady acquantance in the face.

Punching a lady in this particular setting does qualify one to be a scum-bag. To add, if he is found guilty, then he should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. But some of the other posters act like they were there and know the entire story. Their posts are not the fact that he is a scum-bag for punching a lady in this particular setting. But, more of something else, like because he is black and she is white. Although, it is ironic that the reported conversation they were having, some time prior to the incident, happened to be about race.

There are some unanswered questions as I pointed out early on but we also can't pretend we don't have any information. If it is shown he punched her the next question is to ask if it was an accidental reaction from being grabbed or if it was intentional....keep in mind he did not initiate physical contact. I'm hesitant only because nothing was done until 3 days later and we have knowledge of other fabricated incidents blamed on blacks.
