although the presumed reason is the newsworthy aspect of this story, it doesn't matter at all. the guy was a scumbag to punch a lady acquantance in the face.
I agree with that 100 percent.
Punching a lady in this particular setting does qualify one to be a scum-bag. To add, if he is found guilty, then he should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. But some of the other posters act like they were there and know the entire story. Their posts are not the fact that he is a scum-bag for punching a lady in this particular setting. But, more of something else, like because he is black and she is white. Although, it is ironic that the reported conversation they were having, some time prior to the incident, happened to be about race.
