Black Airman Fatally Shot in Florida by Deputies

If he were White he wouldn't be dead today.

Just like this guy's not dead today

The Black guy wasn't a "perp"
Just a US Serviceman sitting in his own home doing facetime with a friend

That you call him a "perp" clearly shows your racism.

AND

The dead US Serviceman didn't draw a weapon.
He was holding it pointed down.

Look at that.
Gun pointed down, left hand in a "hang on" position.

I don't actually blame the deputy.
I blame his training and the environment in which he works.
Your attitude is a clear reflection of the source of his failure.
From his first day at the academy he was taught that young Black men are the "enemy."
That young Black men are a threat.
These lies he learned at the academy are reinforced each and every day by senior personnel who underwent the same training and indoctrination.

Thath's why an obviously threatening older White man is not seen as a real threat.

While a young unarmed Black man holding a cell phone is.
Or, in this case, a young Black man sitting at home peacefully when someone bangs aggressively at his door demanding the door be opened and in response to an apparent threat the young Black man carries his LEGAL weapon to the door, just in case.

It's why the White man is given the change to disarm while the Black man is shot dead with no such warning.

This tragedy is more proof of the racism endemic in law enforcement at every level.

What is your reaction to this police shooting?

I don't generally comment on edited video.

I don't see what happened immediately before this so commenting on what's happening in the EDITED version is useless to me.

Ry putting up an unedited version and we'll see.

Its not racism

I’m looking at it from the deputy’s point of view

He is investigating a domestic disturbance that was reported through 911

Situations like that often lead to high emotion and violence

And the black guy opens the door with a gun in his hand

Had he not done that he would be alive today

Maybe the officer shouldn’t of hide so the service man should of seen him in his uniform.

Maybe he should or asked what’s going on before opening fire

If the black guy had any doubts why open the door?

Because it was his house and someone was yelling and banging on it…he has a right to peace and quit in his own home. He also has a constitutionally protected right to defend his home.

I mean, it was simply horrible police work. If we don’t call it out, it won’t stop

Does he always obey orders from home invaders or other criminal types?

Make them come to you
Maybe possibly he had never been ordered by any LEO to open up before. And maybe he has the gun just in case it was a local thug or robber.

What difference does it make. He complies. He had the gun in his hand and the deputy lit him up before ordering him to drop the gun.

I understand that it was a literally scary situation for the deputy, too. But proper training should have led to a very different outcome.

Sympathy for the deputy is ok. But there is zero basis to criticize the poor victim.

The deputy had no evidence that the disturbance was at that location.
The lady said SHE THOUGHT SHE HEARD A SLAP and SHE THOUGHT IT WAS IN THAT APAARTMENT
Oh, and that's right...KAREN, a White woman complaining about a Black man.

But all that just feeds your racist narrative doesn't it.

"If that KNEEGROW just hadn't opened the door with his gun in response to a loud banging on his door..."

Like all racists, you are blinded by your racism.

Now tell us all about how...
Some of our best friends are Black
How much you enjoy the Black people at work
You dated all those Black women.

Geez.

I don't blame the officer for his training but I do blame you for your willful ignorance.

Had he not been Black he would be alive today.
Nonsense. Not a tiny bit of evidence to support your bogus claim.

Plus, I saw the deputy’s hand in a frame. I thought he too was a black man. I could be mistaken.

Either way, if the victim had been a white guy, he’d almost certainly have been lit up in the same way.

So now the police knocking on a door and yelling “police open up” the renter to shoot the cop?

You are all over the road

If you think its the police put the gun away and open the door

If you think its the criminal element dont open the door and call the police

You really dont know what training the deputy has had

But no training can tell the deputy what the man holding a gun is going go do next

It can be raised and fired in the blink of an eye
