And this from the group that screams about being self-made and independent.
They wouldn't know independence if it kicked them in the *ss

How does wanting to be "self-reliant" make it hypocritical to believe oil is something good?

I, for one, don't give a fig about being "self-reliant." Civilization exists because of the specialization of labor, which is the opposite of being self-reliant. The more self-reliant you are, the lower your standard of living.

"Big Oil" owns the democrat party but unfortunately the big oil in question ain't American big oil. Democrats have been supporting the Saudi princes for decades in exchange for secret deals that inflate their personal fortunes. Get it right lefties, Fossil Fuel equals power and money and it runs the freaking world. Russia made a 30 year deal with China over fossil fuel while the dumb ass in the freaking White House is trying to tell Americans that freaking windmills are the future. No wonder why America's influence is declining in the world with a freaking community activist who ain't got a clue at the helm.

1. *BIG OIL* owns the political play ground, which is all of DC.
2. They don't own the players, they only need to control the board, and the board they bought in the 1950's.
3. Saudi Arabia are players too, they drool over this market, if they could get into refineries here in US, then they would really have something.
4. They produce the raw materials that *BIG OIL*, turns into liquid gold/currency.
5. While they perhaps make 1 billion a day, *BIG OIL* makes somewhere between 5 and 100 billion a day.
6. The amount of money *BIG OIL* makes is really hard to determine.
7. Safe to say billions upon billions, but they also make huge profits on all their other industries each day.
8. More than likely *BIG OIL* makes 10 billion a day on cattle alone.
9. And a good 25 billion a day on farming.
10. And 50 billion a day on insurance.
11. Medical,..more like 100 billion a day.
12, List goes on and on.

1. *BIG OIL* is above politics silly.
2. *BIG OIL* will always protect fuel sales.
3. If duffass Obama/congress, wants to stop some pipeline, or create solar panel bullshit, or mandate wind power, that's not a concern to *BIG OIL*, have fun with it they say.
4. Fuel sales is what concerns them, and as long as they build new cars and sale them fuel sales will increase.
5. If *BIG OIL* thought the pipeline was all that important, they would have the pipeline, but its just a political football, doesn't affect *BIG OIL* one bit.
6. *BIG OIL* could easily build a refinery up there near the Canadian border and ship from there.

1. This is a *OIL BASED ECONOMY*.
2. Fuel sales are at all time high and so are profits, notice how there is no competition in gas prices anymore, all stations are the same, they all go up the same amount when ever they go up, and they all trickle down slowly only to be ushered back up at the same time.
3. Record Profits mean expansion into new markets, *BIG OIL* is about to launch into some other branch of human service and need huge amounts of cash in order to fund the expense.
4. But know for sure big money is to be made by *BIG OIL* to do it, or they wouldn't bother.
