Bidenomics Devastation: 5,500 Store Closures in '23 – Up 30% - Is Your Favorite Next?

It's a pattern that no amount of Dem / Socialist sidestepping can deny. Leftist policies that promote crime, decay and make criminals a protected class ruin cities.

It's just a fact that retail stores can't survive when they are subjected to rampant theft, drug addicts on the streets and shoplifters given a free hand to steal.

What does economic growth look like? New jobs, businesses expanding, growth of the middle class?

For the Democratic Party, economic growth is apparently the mass closure of retail stores throughout the country.

Stores such as Walgreens point the finger at rising theft rates for their high closure rates, noting that crime has been having major negative ramifications on locations’ profitability.

And then the rest of the story...

The U.S. retail market chalked up a strong performance in the first half of the year even as several chains liquidated, with store openings outpacing closings and space remaining tight.

Bed Bath and Beyond was the largest closure in 2023
Had little to do with urban crime rates

While BBBY withstood competition from Amazon, its ultimate demise was due to a self-imposed disaster. In 2019, activist investors won control of its board and hired a CEO who heedlessly forced the private-label strategy he devised for Target on BBBY customers.

No longer finding the goods they expected on BBBY’s shelves, customers bought them elsewhere. That sent sales down and left banks and suppliers in the lurch.

And then there is this....

9300 stores closed in 2019...was that Trump's fault?

Mostly retail stores whose management makes it clear that crime, drugs and Dem / Socialist policies make doing business impossible.

Pharmacies have been having problems and closing stores since before Biden was elected. It may be that some policies enacted under Biden have worsened things, but no single administration can be solely blamed for the problems with retail pharmacies. Bed Bath and Beyond hired a new CEO in 2019 to try to fix their issues and his changes may have helped lead to their bankruptcy.

Blaming the Biden admin may be simpler, but at least from the little reading I've done on some of the major store closures in recent years, there's much more to it than current admin policies. 🤷‍♂️

More failed excuses by the Dem / Socialist.

Why are retailers leaving Dem / Socialist Hell holes?

They have made it clear. Conspiracy theories on your part are no reason for anyone else to accept such nonsense.

It could be that most insurance companies force you to do mail order Pharmacies for anything not an emergency.

Another arm-chair economics micro-manager. Deep State interference kills jobs, companies and Countries. Free markets sort themselves. And produce Tax revenues.

crooked deep state shut all small business but big D donor stores remained open during their flu scam.

that must have been why 9300 stores closed in 2019

The retailers who are abandoning Dem / Socialist Hell holes are not blaming Biden.

They are blaming Dem / Socialist policies that promote crime, theft and decay.

You can choose to ignore what the retailers are saying but that doesn't change their reasons for leaving.

the idiots stopped and refused to carry My Pillow. Even shot off corporate mouth about it in 2021? Lost 60% right there.

You don't understand why stores closed during covid.

The reasons retailers are fleeing Dem / Socialist Hell holes are completely different. The retailers made that clear but you want to deny the facts.

/----/ Was Trump on the BB&B board that made the stupid decisions?

all 9300 were not BB&B stores.

But, since you all are blaming Biden for the 5500 closed stores this past year, I am sure in the interest of not looking like a fucking mindless partisan drone you will blame Trump for the 9300 closed stores in 2019.

that inflation is actually worse than the numbers show.

“Indexes like the median CPI and trimmed-mean CPI remove outliers and they show inflation much higher than the headline, or even the core, inflation rates,” Antoni explained. “That tells us the rise in prices is widespread and not simply one or two volatile components jumping for a few months. We’re facing persistently high inflation — period.”

Antoni added that Biden’s trillions in new spending are forcing the Fed to expand the money supply to finance deficit spending.
